A preview of what the new game looks like.

If you've played Splatoon 2 (specifically its game mode Salmon Run) then you'll be familiar with what I'm aiming to make.

If not, then this will be a great way to introduce you the extreme fun of Splatoon's gameplay mechanics. (Without the need to own a console)

Mini FAQ:

Is it a NSFW game or a safe game?Yes. Seriously, yes to both. The plan is to make the game free and SFW. But the NSFW features will be Patreon exclusive.

Is it a multiplayer game like Splatoon?Sadly, no. Multiplayer is hard. It will become a single-player game with certain online capabilities like Hot Glue.

Is it a total duplicate of Splatoon?No. Even the gameplay is adjusted to make it fun for a single-player experience. And with a few additions!

Is it still about Inklings or anything Splatoon related?No. Only the gameplay will be copied. But all designs (Characters, enemies, etc) are going to be original. Thus, why I dub this game "Bootleg".

When do we get to play it?I'm aiming to make a simple playable release by next month, Jan 2021. But please don't expect it to be beautiful. I'm sure it'll have a rough start.

And that's when you start making charged posts, right?Yup. So please, prepare a dollar. (Every month. Hopefully)

My only concern is nintendo potentially slapping you with a c&d on the grounds its too similar to splatoon gameplay wise

As far as I know, gameplay mechanics don't get copyrighted. Visuals and designs, yes, but not gameplay. Or else, a lot of FPS games are suing each other. But if we want to play safe, I can heavily modify the gameplay, enough to become its own original game. Is everyone interested in this change of path? Let me know.

The paintball game type has already existed before splatoon, so as long as this doesn't have characters too similar to splatoon's art or markets itself as a "splattoon-like" game instead of a "paintball-style" game. it should be fine

while true, nintendo's probably gonna pull up some obscure reasoning that only 3 people have heard about in an attempt to c&d, just for the sake of "protecting" their ip. Don't underestimate how ass-backwards their logic is, given what they've been pulling this year

A game in this style would likely be fun I've played some splatoon and while I'm not familiar with Salomon run the previous video made me think of pikmin and that seems cool especially if they chasing booty

I have but one request, can we please get resolutions higher then 720p for the game window this time? My biggest gripe with HG was having to play it windowed
