Summer In The City 1.0 Release Delayed (Patreon)

Hi everyone,

I unfortunately had to make the difficult decision to delay the release of Summer In The City for another few days for all tiers. I'm very close to becoming burned out. The last one and a half weeks were some of the most emotionally draining days I've ever experienced despite of all your amazing support.

Instead of enjoying my long awaited and absolutely necessary vacation, I'm still working overtime, trying to keep things afloat. I feel like everything I've worked for non-stop these past two years is unjustly falling apart thanks to the new situation we find ourselves in. I'm under a lot of pressure keeping my new dream career you all made possible a reality. It's really hard to communicate all this to others without going deeper into one's personal circumstances, which I prefer not to do for privacy reasons. I will just have to ask you for a little bit more patience and your understanding.

Besides all this, I also need a tiny bit more time for testing and polishing. The game is 100% finished when it comes to narrative and renders. I'm currently struggling with getting the multi-persistence code to work (it's necessary for transferring save files/variables from Season One to Season Two). It's not even a difficult task per se, but it just doesn't work as I intend it to. I've also extended a few scenes this past week which could use a bit more refinement. This is not a big deal though and can be done within a day or two.

I think the best course of action right now would be to not giving out specific release dates again. I'm worried I won't be able to keep 'em besides new deadlines putting me under even more pressure. I will of course let you all know immediately when I'm ready to upload the game, hopefully this upcoming week. The rollout will remain the same. First Shitballs Deluxe -> Shitballs -> Friends With Benefits -> Master Of Shenanigans -> Besties. All with two days in between.

I'm going to leave a final batch of previews for you as an apology offering 😉I promise to deliver, as always. Just with a few hiccups here and there every once in a while.

Take all the time you need because although I want it now, I know that you burned out will only make the release delayed even more. Also for season 2 please make it two apps or if it's one then please don't let the new version overwrite season 1 in so that the beginning can not be replayed. I love your game and can't wait for what is to come...even though I am waiting now but you know.

Season Two will be a seperate app, yes. That's why I need multi-persistence to work as intended. You will be able to load in your stats from Season One of course.

No need to worry about it, take your time. Burnout is the last thing you need. Been there, it's not a good place to be. I often tend to push myself as well more than i probably should. Haven't played this game in a while, guess Summer is now just going around naked looks like? Turned out to be a pretty nasty girl haha. Sadly not much time to play other games when you make your own as im sure you understand. Take care!

We can wait, this is not a race or something at the end of which you will be evaluated on the speed it took you to make it. If anything it's on the quality that your work will be measured. Quality that often need a well rested mind, one that is not under constant stress. So pace yourself give yourself a schedule in which there is time for R&R. We know what you are doing the rest of the time: you are working on Summer's adventures. So at least give yourself the time to lean back with a beer in hand and 8 hours of sleep. You definitely deserve it and it's what we want in our lives so allowing you the same is a given. Take care of yourself. Summer is important, but not as much as you! ❤️

Yeah, take a bit of rest time. You'll be back to keeping tab on all sorts of things with the release and bugs and etc, so planning rest time after that is not the best idea. XD

Honestly, consider publishing it as a book for lesbian women (there are a lot of us out there and not all of us play AVNs, and yes, the story is that good) ; you can make bank. There's even a Murphy's Law for this, the 90/90 Rule : The first 90% of a task takes 10% of the time. The last 10% takes the other 90% of the time.
