Hi my lovely Besties, Masters Of Shenanigans, Friends With Benefits, Shitballs and Shitballs Deluxe,

I'm happy to finally bring you the (almost) final first season of Summer In The City! It's been a rollercoaster of a development with many ups and a few downs. Even though my big dream of having the game on Steam didn't come true, I still consider it more than a success where the game is today. It wouldn't have been possible without all of you and your genuine interest in my little project, which started off as a mere hobby in December 2023.

There are a few things regarding the new content I need to talk about:

I made the difficult decision to cut some content last minute I wasn't happy with anymore after having playtested it over and over again. I am currently working on replacement renders and dialogues for a specific scene involving Yun. I'm willing to discuss this on the discord server in the early-access-discussion channel in order to avoid spoilers here. There's also one other scene involving Rosa that I would like to extend a bit more, adding some fun options, but haven't been able to finish it just yet. None of the cut or missing content is mandatory to play for Season Two's continuation, so you can play the current version without having to fear that something important is missing when Season Two comes out.

As always, please feel free to report any bugs/spelling/grammar errors you encounter in the respective bug-report channel on Discord or here via DM. Every report is appreciated and will help me polish the game towards the best possible quality.

I hope you will enjoy Summer In The City - Season One and I also hope to see you stay or come back for Season Two. I will talk more about my plans for Season Two in a dedicated post soon. Right now I will keep working on the few minutes of missing content as well as bug fixing and finally finish some custom renders I unfortunately had to push back due to time constraints and a looming burn out. I will postpone my vacation to mid October since I'm moving into a new apartment during that time. Some free time will surely come in handy for setting up a new and improved workstation among other things.

Edit (September 25th 2025): I am planning to release the patched version 1.01 on September 29th including the aforementioned rewritten scene with Yun and the extended scene with Rosa, bug/spelling/grammar fixes as well as the fully completed rolling credit screen.

Edit (September 29th 2025): The first (and hopefully last) patched version is coming along nicely but will take a few more days to arrive. I want to make sure to get as many bugs/spelling/grammar fixed as possible. Uploading the game to different platforms and itch can take a whole day and I'd like to avoid having to do this several times for minor bugfixes. I have already established a new file structure for season two, which will make updates and patches much more convenient to up- and download.
