These beautiful rock formations were formed from an ancient supervolcanic eruption 27 million years ago. The area is part of chiricahua national monument in southeast arizona. The area contains the only population of wild Jaguars in the United States (you heard that correctly) along with a population of a dozen ocelots :D. It is also a candidate region for the reintroduction of an Arizona parrot species.
