Remember when I announced Sinister Serana – VIGILANT Questologue Add-On and mentioned exploring separate versions of Serana depending on your Dawnguard faction?

Well... I ran a poll regarding the Saturalia showcase. It is a very good example of what we have planned for Vigilant. You all know how much I love my data!

Sinister Serana (Unfiltered & Dangerous): 51%

Classic Serana (Dawnguard's Moody Royalty): 49%

You absolute maniacs could not have made this harder if you tried. 😂

The community verdict is loud, clear, and utterly unhinged: "YES."

This officially locks in what I was already dreading and loving in equal measure: VIGILANT demands distinctly written Seranas.

Not global dialogue running through lazy condition checks. Not Sinister Serana wearing a Dawnguard name tag. Not Classic Serana casually committing unprovoked war crimes because I mixed up an audio bucket at 3:00 AM.

Distinct personalities. Distinct motives. Completely different worldviews.

I will start with the following three primary branches and then add more in the future. Another thing I will do is add dialogue to Isran and others acknowledging your deeds in the Vigilant Questline.

I am decreasing the scope for now because I can always add to it later.

Here is how the three primary early branches are shaking out:

🩶 BEFORE SIDING - SERANA UNDECIDED (My Favorite)

You just pulled Serana out of Dimhollow Crypt. She barely knows you. Your sole job was to walk her home to Castle Volkihar.

Instead, cursed with the navigational instincts of a concussed mudcrab, you took an immediate detour to Dawnstar, enlisted with the Vigilants of Stendarr... and somehow dragged her straight into the depths of Coldharbour.

"Most escorts get lost in the woods. You somehow managed to miss the coast and hit Oblivion."

She hasn't chosen the Dawnguard. She hasn't returned to Volkihar. She hasn't rejected Harkon, nor has she embraced his prophecy. She is ancient, deeply cynical, hyper-vigilant, and rapidly realizing she trusted her freedom to an armed lunatic.

Every line here reflects pure survival, biting observation, and profound bewilderment at your life choices.

🦇 VOLKIHAR - SINISTER SERANA (My Second Favorite)

The gloves come off. This is the 51% monster you unleashed.

You sided with Clan Volkihar. Serana hasn't cast aside her dark heritage to play hero with crossbow fanatics she is stepping into VIGILANT as a true Daughter of Coldharbour and the blood heir of Volkihar.

Molag Bal. Coldharbour. Domination. Corruption. Religious zealotry ripped to shreds.

VIGILANT basically looked at Sinister Serana and asked: "Would you like a playground?"

Yes. Yes, she would. And Divines help anything standing in her way.

⚔️ DAWNGUARD - CLASSIC SERANA (Will be the first time siding with the Dawnguard)

And then the other 49% grabbed me by the collar and said: "ARC. DON'T YOU DARE ABANDON CLASSIC SERANA."

Heard loud and clear.

Dawnguard Serana will not just be Sinister Serana with 20% less murder. Her trauma is raw. Her trust in you was hard-won. Her active rejection of Harkon and the court defines who she is striving to become.

When she encounters the Vigilants, the horrors of Molag Bal, and the crushing weight of Coldharbour, it hits her to her core. She is still sharp, defensive, and sarcastic, she is still Serana, but she is the Moody Royalty fighting for her soul, not the apex predator reveling in the dark.
