Sony FE 50-150 F2 GM Lens Review (Patreon)

Sony FE 50-150 F2 GM Lens Review

Prices quoted in this review are taken from prior to the US tariff announcement. They were not adjusted up, because the tariffs do not impact other nations and are of unknown duration for US market. In this review I compare Sony's FE 50-150 F2 GM fast-focusing wide-aperture zoom lens with both the Tamron/Samyang 35-150 lenses and also Sony's fast-focusing wide-aperture prime lenses. This lens should be of interest for photographers who photograph rapidly moving subjects but prefer to use apertures wider than F2.8. Designing a zoom lens with a constant F2 aperture has led to one or two compromises, but this lens gives little away to Sony's GM primes in terms of sharpness and Autofocus speed.
