https://youtu.be/ctTQl2oU0Bs The times and dates are as follows: Sunday February 9th 9.00 am (Australian Eastern Standard Time) Saturday February 8th 11.00 pm GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) Saturday February 8th 5.00 pm EST (Eastern Standard Time USA)  Saturday February 8th 2.00 pm PST (Pacific Standard Time USA)  Please double-check and adjust the 9.00 am start time (Melbourne, Australia) for your time zone. Just remember that as Australia is 11 hours ahead of London, 16 hours ahead of New York and 19 hours ahead of Los Angeles, Sunday in Melbourne Australia is actually SATURDAY in the USA.  Please ask your questions you would like answered in the comments section below (in this post).  If the question can be answered with a short objective response I may answer it before the Seminar / Q&A session. I will answer questions asked during the live event at the end of the session (if time permits). https://youtu.be/ctTQl2oU0Bs

Hi Mark, interested to hear your opinion on shooting street photography in RAW+Jpeg fine using the Monochrome Creative Style to see if image looks better in RAW colour or Jpeg monochrome and whether to convert RAW to monochrome in post production Thanks Colin

Mark Galer

I would personally convert to monochrome in Post Production - About 1 hours and 15 minutes into my Post Production Masterclass video ( https://youtu.be/VF_e55Q742k?t=4527 ) I discuss how I do this. Shooting with the creative style set to monochrome, however, may prove to be a useful way of visualising your subject in monochrome as you capture it in-camera.

Hi! Can I watch the seminar? I am not a subscriber to YouTube.

Mark Galer

That should be possible - If you click on the link above - I should appear when I go live (all going well).

Thank you for covering a lot of useful topics geared towards helping us learn to use the equipment better in order to take better quality images. One of the parts I appreciated was the bit on Image Stabilization. Yesterday I was out in the wetlands on a boat and encountered two White-tailed Eagles doing a courtship flight. It lasted a few minutes; they would come closer and then move further away again, so I was able to think about my settings and readjust them. One of the things I did was to switch my IS to mode III (on the 200-600 mm lens). But now it does occur to me that, as I was shooting at 1/2000 sec, I could have easily turned it off. I got nicely sharp images anyway. I used Tracking Zone AF, by the way, and it worked perfectly. I would share an image from the series with you for comments, but even at 600 mm, the birds are quite small. I ended up cropping them to 1700 px. So to show them at 4K, you'd be getting a lot of sky ;) Would it make sense to do so anyway?

Mark Galer

Mode III handles erratic movements of the camera so it is OK to leave SteadShot on. Sometimes we have to crop so aggressively to remove the negative space we have to go under 4K. Many 15inch laptop screens are 2560 px and an iPad is 2048 pixels. The lowest I dare go is 1920 x 1080 px. This is exactly half of the 4K resolution so interpolation on some screens is handled in a way that the images still look OK - if you don't get too close to the screen. Sometimes negative space works OK so post if you are in doubt.

Would adding a 2x teleconverter add to the compression For the shots in China showing the apartments and the compression using a telephoto lens? What about changing to AP-C? Can I get similar results with an A7R4 and a 70-200 F2.8 GM Lens? I didn't hear the model of lens you were shooting with.

I am getting into street photography. I usually ask before I take someone's picture. sometimes they are candid photos. Say I enter a photo in a contest a magazine is running on street photography. Will I need to obtain a model release? I live in the United States. I would like to hear more about what is legal to publish and what isn't. Concerts, volleyball, surfers, etc... What I can put on my web site, and photo sharing sites. Mark, thanks for all you do. I value your knowledge and insight.

Mark Galer

Using Teleconverters and shooting in APS-C mode will add to perspective compression but so will cropping into the image in post production. There is no difference in the look of an image between cropping in camera (APS-C mode) and cropping in post. The lens I used for the Australian landscapes was my 100-400 with 1.4 Teleconverter and the images in Hong Kong were captured around 200mm equivalent on an APS-C camera.

There are no rights to privacy in public spaces. You only need a model release if the image was to be used in commercial advertising.
