Sony have kept what they are about to release a complete mystery to everyone in the industry. There may, however, be a clue in the rather peculiar title of the teaser "The one never seen".

It is well known that Sony have been working on Curved Sensor Technology for more than five years. The use of a curved sensor would allow simpler lens design, since light rays entering the lens from oblique angles don't have to be corrected to project onto a flat surface (our retinas are curved and we make use of a very simple lens). We could see the use of a much smaller lens for the size of sensor and very sharp corner detail, even with the aperture wide open. A curved sensor would only really be useful for Interchangeable E-Mount cameras if Sony also released a new set of lenses designed specifically to be used with a curved sensor.

If Sony uses a curved sensor in a new fixed lens RX camera with a lens designed specifically for this curved sensor you would never get to see the new curved sensor because of the fixed lens, Could this be "The One Never Seen".

That's my guess ...but I could be spectacularly wrong. Not long to wait...
