Changing Lenses (Patreon)
Content
This is a video that explores some ideas for quick, easy and secure lens changes.
I was asked by several Patrons about how I change lenses on location, so I prepared this short 7-minute movie to show some of the workflows I adopt.

A word about front Lens Caps and Lens Hoods
When working an event I remove the lens caps and attach the lens hoods at the beginning of the shoot . This is the case with all lenses except the large telephoto lenses. The lenses are returned to the bag without the front lens caps attached. The lens hoods protect the front elements while in the bags (lens hood pointing down). I store nothing loose in the camera bag that could move around to touch the front elements. I would adopt the same approach with the telephoto lenses except my small messenger bags are not tall enough to take these larger lenses with lens hoods attached.
Adding a second camera body to your workflow to reduce lanes changes.
When working with a white telephoto lens on a shoot I often add a second camera body to my workflow (with shorter focal length prime attached). The camera with white lens attached moves to a Peak Design slide (shoulder strap) and is placed over my shoulder (and behind my back when not being used). This leaves one camera with lens attached and a second prime of a different focal length in the bag. These two primes are often selected from my range of 20, 35, 50, 85 and 135 primes depending on the shoot. See my 'Lens Choice' video tutorial for info on my choice of lenses.
