This is Sony's oldest GM prime lens. Although it does not feature the ultra-rapid AF, courtesy of the modern linear XD focus motors we see in the more recent GM lenses, it is a solid performer and makes an ideal portrait prime for someone looking for even smoother bokeh than the the f/1.8 version. A few things to note about this lens is that it does not have very quiet AF (especially from new) and it's aperture does not breathe wider when shooing in AF-S to assist focus in low light. It is also not completely devoid of color-fringing when shooting with the maximum f/1.4 aperture. Although I am big fan of this lens, I would expect Sony will update it with a GM II version shortly - with that in mind you may be able to pick up a discounted version, if and when the new lens is announced. Alternative options to this lens would be the FE 85mm F1.8, FE 50mm f/1.2, FE 135 F1.8 GM or Sigma's 85mm F1.4.
