First published by Focal Press in 1999 under the title Location Photography, it was written to be an academic text for my Photography college students. The books proved popular (it was translated into many languages) and by the time the fourth edition was published, the title had changed to Digital Photography: Essential Skills. When the book was finally out of print, the copyright reverted to me (as the owner of the intellectual property). I updated the chapters in 2020 (replacing any outdated information). The information contained in this eBook will help you further understand the principles of photography, rather than just the camera settings required to capture sharp and well exposed images.
