Poor Henry's not getting much luck in these early episodes! I'm guessing 'sick' is standing in for having a mechanical fault somewhere.

Saying "Botched Up," is insensitive to cans due to the incidence of botulism that can occur with dented or mishandled ones, so who knows, the Youtube algorithm might have caught that ;-)

So in canon, Henry was ill because he was built by a shady group using measurements from rejected blueprints stolen from Gordon’s designer, and as a result, his firebox was too small to function well enough. Topham was swindled into buying Henry once the scammers realized their mistake. Topham was not one to give up, though, and did all he could think of to fix Henry. But that’s another story.

In addition, Thomas travelled a much shorter distance in the book version. He only got as far as the station yard limits.
