Spongey's weird cheese shape when he's "normal" still looks so odd to me lol. Got a new main video coming up soon :)

Spongebob Review S6 - Not Normal

I'm surprised I've missed this one for so long.

I thought this was a decent episode!

Mara

“Hi. How are ya?”

Another old quote I repeat

KittyRoses12

Until I was in my late teens, my autistic brain thought that window shopping meant shopping for windows.

Monique Star

I know SpongeBob being autistic was presumably made by accident, but I wonder at what point did the show runners notice and just roll with it. Cause I can't imagine Tom Kenny being the only one on the team to notice

Josh Strider

I couldn't figure it out either until someone explained it meant like "shopping without buying anything" and I was like "that word doesn't make sense" lol

Josh Strider

It'd be a fascinating thing to know behind the scenes in the writing room if they subtly add a few Autism markers in nowadays.

Monique Star

I mean, that's what I thought upon first seeing this episode.

Someone told me that window shopping meant looking through window displays

SpongeBob reminds me of a Thomas and Friends character, Duck. Now Duck has been displaying autistic traits since his debut, in the 1950s. While I can understand the team behind the Railway Series, the Britt Alcroft company, Gullane, and maybe HIT entertainment not noticing his symptom because autism wasn’t understood at the time. However, I’m shocked that Mattel hasn’t noticed.

SpongeBob saying “hi how are ya?” Will never not be funny to me.
