One of my first concerts was Red Hot Chili Peppers when I was 16, the opening band was Blonde Redhead. I loved BR so much, I’d never seen anything so cool. The crowd at Deer Creek in Indiana booed them and then RHCP were unexciting and I never liked them after that. Blonde Redhead is still one of my favorite bands. So that’s my “opening band was better” review of RHCP

I ended up getting tickets to see Red Not Chili Peppers around the time venues were opening back up late 2020/early 2021 thinking they were the real deal (I'm stupid) Took my ex girlfriend with me thinking "this is how I win her back". Show was alright, she ended up leaving with another guy and I walked home from the venue in the rain.
