Nolan is 100% going off of vibes. Specifically the vibe of a petulant adolescent at the Disco Demolition thing back in the 70’s

I'm incredibly honored to be part of a flub

Home Depot definitely does check inside all your stuff now. Even if you're buying an expensive tool bag, they open up every zipper and pocket and check for stuff, and they'll stop you at self-checkout to check it too.

The reveal of what the episode cover picture was killed me.

Ricardo

I know a home depot Lost prevention dude. He steals from there and sells at a discount lol. He also got his nose broken for trying to stop someone from stealing.

Even Michael Noland's music is "What if we made blues rock music even whiter? No, more whiter. Keep going..."

Jared Marnin

Lol took so long to find this Patreon. Found the pod through Minion Death Cult, kept searching “Guys Bryan Quimby”. Glad I’m here ❤️

To answer the question about the difference between rock and pop, if you want to be a purist then yes there is definitely a difference between what you would call “rock” and “pop” at the time. “Rock and Roll” as a genre has a pretty stiff set of parameters, the main ones being a basis on the i iv v progression, call and response vocal/instrument motifs, and of course distorted guitars. Rock also has a heavy blues influence and in general when the more you go outside these parameters the less likely one would be to consider it “rock”. That is, if you’re an old loser who’s entire life is based on praising the music he listened to when he first started jackin it.

There was a hot sauce shop in my town growing up - the owner was an older guy, Vietnam vet; really good natured and easy going guy. He was definitely happy to be a struggling hot sauce merchant and not in the fucking military anymore lol.
