As a former tour guide myself, it's amazing how often people go to the wrong place to start tours. Either they don't read or the company doesn't word them well. Also, Viator/TripAdvisor are notoriously slow on processing refunds.

Boston guy here: the outside of the Cheers building was used for the Cheers intro but there was no Cheers bar at the time. Then the Cheers IP holders bought the upstairs and "recreated" the Cheers bar with themed food and attached a merch store. Then eventually they also bought the downstairs (where you'd think the bar would be) and built a real Cheers bar out of, and it's actually quite decent.
