So, I have never had to do this but all these scanner guys talk about is frequencies so I’m pivoting to “police fans” because I’ve found a lot of them and I think it’ll be a bit more funny because I’ve never found a more dull group. There will be scanners in the show. I’m sorry and I owe you all one!

Police Scanner Guys is probably easier to find by researching Amateur Radio Guys because there is a looooooot of overlap there, but it also attracts survivalist weirdos and trooplickers in general, so all of these things just kinda get blended together into one reactionary homogenate. I guess they think they're the only people who know how to operate radios, so you hear them say some wild shit sometimes since they think they're among friends.

Have an embarrasing coworker who listens to police scanner throughout entire shift with excuse its for safety. Cops clown on him and he complains about it but still probably thin blue line guy. Some people just cannot help but show their humiliation fetish in public because I can't explain otherwise

I had a buddy who was a professional police scanner guy for the local news, just sitting up at 3am in the studio half-drunk from the night before and listening to small town cops bullshitting

I had a police scanner many years ago. One night we had it in the car without realizing it and got pulled over by the cops. We got a jump scare when we suddenly heard the scanner picking up the cops checking the license plate on our car. But thankfully they were not in range to hear it and we turned it off before they came back.

My uncle was a police scanner guy. Everytime you called him or went to his house that thing would be on at full volume and he would update you on the local incidents and fires. He was a huge sports fan too but the police scanner took precedent. Whenever a incident came on he would mute the game and listen to the scanner. When he died we played his scanner all night in his honor. RIP
