He who dreamed of a change of life and fame, he's going to get what he wanted! (probably not in the way he would have thought!).

Seb couldn't quite believe the attention he was receiving. Damn it, he hadn't even had a proper audition. He hadn't been offered nor accepted any part and yet they were filming him. Filming him from multipe angles. He started to wonder whether this was some form of extended screen test. Were they looking for his best angles? Would they be comparing his natural style with how he performed when acting? Or, more sinisterly, was this some form of 'Me Too' type test? Were they observing how he behaved with the driver? He guessed studios needed to be so careful these days to avoid litigation. His behaviour wouldn't be a problem, Seb was always on his best behaviour with girls. His mother and his Aunt had been very clear on that matter with him throughout his upbringing, Auntie especially so. Seb insisted on carrying his bag to the car. He wasn't going to let the driver take it from him. It might be only a holdall but he wasn't going to let her carry it: he would be the gentleman. At least he hadn't brought heavy cases with him. A small holdall had seemed far more sensible. Much easier to pack and much quicker through security. Carry-on also meant he didn't have to hang around in baggage claim and would be one of the first out of the terminal. Mummy had said she'd send on his things if he got the part and was going to be staying longer in Los Angeles. A blast of hot air hit him as they walked from the air-conditioned terminal to the carpark. "It's a Santa Ana," drawled his driver, "we get them every few months. Clears the air but boy can it get hot." Seb was already awestruck even before the car swept from the terminal. It wasn't a car, it wasn't a taxi, it was black stretch limo. It was enormous. The kind of car girls at his school had hired for the final Prom. It could have taken at least 8 if not 10 people and it was all for him. The driver insisted that he sit in the back. It took him a while to realise that it wasn't to avoid any impropriety and more about the strategically positioned cameras covering the rear seats. Seb was glad when the driver turned on the engine and a blast of icy air erupted from the vents. He gazed through the smoked glass windows. California really was like how it looked in the movies. He was open mouthed at the wide but still crowded freeways. It was sunny. Hot and sunny with clear blue skies. (Or muddy blue given the glass.) There were palm trees. There were verdant lawns. There were nodding donkey oil wells along parts of the highway. OIl wells so near to the city. It seemed inconceivable. He felt like he was in some kind of Western, or weird reality show. Was this how The Truman Show felt? "Is this your first time in LA?" drawled the driver over her shoulder. "Yes. First time in the US, in fact." "You're kidding me," said the driver. "You've sure got a lot of catching up to do. And hey honey, I just love your British accent." "Thank you." Honey: that was a nice start. Start as you mean to continue. "There's lots I want to ask you. I'd love to go to the UK and see Buck-ing-ham Pal-ace and meet the King....." "Well....." Seb attemtped to interupt intending to correct her misplaced travel plans but she continued. "I think you're the only Brit on the show but I'm sure looking forward to getting better acquainted with you when you setlle in. By the way, my name's Roderick but friends call me Rod. Like in your Rod Stewart. Your old English singers are so great ....." "Well......" Seb again wanted to correct the driver but was brought up short. Did the driver just say her name was Roderick? ______________________ Hope this is a fitting conitnuation. S xxx

Brianna's World

Sebastian to Sabrina! What a lucky young man! Soon he'll be hairless, and pretty. I think a pixie cut would look adorable on him!

It would seem the driver has gone through this before. Getting him to relax should be child's play. Wait until he meets the rest of the cast.
