I dont agree hes a bad writer, i just think he got complacent or even cowardly about his ability to finish the series and stay on theme. I think he might be embarrassed by how brutal and nasty Kelsier was and how bleak Mistborn was in general and wanted to end this one as a sort of apology for all that. If it were me Id have kept this book grounded, Id have had Wax accept help from others, and let the people themselves win the day. Its why superhero narratives often bore me, because in real life superheroes dont exist. In real life dead bodies are gross and war ruins everything around it. Dead people are dead and their families are ravaged. Honestly i might even have given the "good guys" the nuke and had it end in a stalemate, just like our shitty world
