I wonder if the wolf let the brother go because he was the one that wanted to use bricks, like in the original story? Update! He hid behind bricks and the wolf can't get through bricks. So, you know...maybe?

I think the way the little girl finds all these perfect sub in’s for the fairy tales and how she gets them into the perfect places and time is the same thing. She has nothing but time and is probably just stalking the town until she sees people that fit into various tales like the three brothers and grandma and red hood. Then she possesses them somehow more subtly at first to bake a pie or get lost in the woods until she leads them where she wants them.
