It's time for the episode that launched a thousand memes, but which has a plot constructed of toothpicks and spit. I had a lot of fun watching this one due to Jensen Ackles, of course, but my god the more we talked about the Monster Of The Week the more confused I got.

Thanks so much to you all for listening, and I will see you soon with a new episode!

I don't like that the solution for this ep was to make a guy who had been bullied and terrorized to death relive that experience. I also am confused about why it took 20 years to start the ghost sickness. What triggered it?

I think you misunderstood something about part of the plotline of this episode. The wife committed suicide not because of anything done to her, but because she was depressed. Sometimes, there is just nothing you can do. But the bullies blamed Luthor because they thought he had been the cause of her death and killed him. Years later, we see that he regrets his reactions. We also see how society forgave him. Sadly, that is a reality of society that the episode acknowledges (although perhaps not usually to the extent of covering up a murder!). That does not mean that the writers approve of it. Hence them finally becoming the targets of the ghost.
