It's hardly poker. But alas, there IS fairies... and they DO get fat.

And at the end of the day, that's what poker's really all about. Right?

A little early look at how the new minigame is coming along! Pretty proud of it so far.

Mmm.. interesting well I'm all in ! "Loses the mini game" .... Damnit!

Serpentsaurus

The faerie is so cunty I love her 😤

A Man Named Jed

So in addition to cows, plant girls, and a mouse we'll also be able to get a collection fairies to stuff? Awesome!

Dandy's Chest

There's a ton of variations, but I'll admit, this one's one of my favourites.

A Man Named Jed

Does that mean there's a chance our little imp friend might be joining us for a card game?

BigPen

Amazing stuff, we must fat the fairy at all costs

Dandy's Chest

No such plans for now. Girl's gotta stay nimble for when Sky gets herself immobilized later down the line!

Damn this looks pretty good, btw im just curious about how this minigame gonna end, like fairies are just gonna end overstuffed in a round shape breaking the jar. or maybe after that you can continue playing until they burst like what happened with the Dryads minigame?

Dandy's Chest

Once they become big enough, they'll destroy the jar and pop out onto the table! If you interact with them afterwards, it'll pick up a random-sized fairy in a jar of that colour. It's how you can get them as a collectible to put in your house and stuff :)

That's cool, though the risk of accidentally popping her if you OVERfeed her would be a good incentive to play strategically, and not just stuff as much into her as possible - like, going over the required number by a great margin (say, >2), will cause the fairy to tap out and refuse to play at lower weights. As her weight goes up, she can endure more and more overfeeding, and she'll be more willing to continue, even if she's overfed. Not sure how many weight stages are you planning for them before they become immobile, but, let's say, after the 3rd stage, they are willing to continue playing, even if they have been overfed at the end of the last round. The benefit of playing it risky, and always feeding the fairy JUST to her limit would be rewarded by a faster weight gain on her part, and visually, by making her bloated (and gassy, if that's turned on for the player). On the other hand, getting the cards JUST right could reward the player with an additional food item, to balance it all out. So, in summary: - getting under the right number of cards causes the player to eat - getting exactly the right number of cards stuffs the fairy, and boons the player an extra food item - the fatter the fairy is, the more calorie-dense the food item is - going over the required number with the cards will render the fairy overstuffed, but she has an upper limit, going over that limit will cause the fairy to quit the game in lower weight stages, but in higher stages, she doggedly eat the food until she pops, ending the game prematurely - the if the fairy had been overstuffed at an earlier stage, and quit the game, she'll be willing to pay again if the player comes back (maybe a day later?), but if the player pops her, she'll be replaced by another fairy, restarting the whole gaining process - getting JUST to her limit with the numbers results in an overstuffed, bloated fairy that gains weight faster, and is also bloated and gassy - the margin of how much extra food she can eat rises with each weight stage (2 at her starting, weight, 3 at her second, 4 at her third, and so on...) I'm not sure if this is implementable or not...

Evergreen

Oh no, it’s perfect 😩

TastyBot

Interesting, I can see munch time spent in playing this minigame in the future

Copying my reply made to XdZarnaxd, because I'm not sure if it shows up on your end: It's cool, though the risk of accidentally popping her if you OVERfeed her would be a good incentive to play strategically, and not just stuff as much into her as possible - like, going over the required number by a great margin (say, >2), will cause the fairy to tap out and refuse to play at lower weights. Honestly, I feel like this would take a lot of the difficulty out of the game, since most people would very likely just shoot for overstuffing the fairy regardless 😂 It's a fun idea for a separate mechanic, but for this, I feel like the entire card game would need to be reworked to discourage people from just throwing out the craziest number possible

MforMetropolis

Fair point - my idea definitely needs a refinement, and I understand that the rework it would take would be more of a hassle, considering the version you've showcased is already very welcomed (and make no mistake, I like it as well, I've just succumbed to a brainwave I've had about it). Perhaps, the difficulty could come from the Fairy's upper limit increasing by an unknown amount with each new weight stage, so the players trying to overstuff her could always run the risk of accidentally overstuffing to the point of bursting, forcing them to restart with a new fairy (and to that point, the Fairy could be accidentally popped at any weight stage, like how the driads could be overwatered at any size). It would also depend on what cards the players have, since they have a limited number of moves, and a bad hand could ruin their efforts by either making the number too low, or too high. There could also be a counter-incentive to get the number JUST right to win the round without overstuffing the Fairy (better rewards from her after she gets immobile, maybe? Like getting all the food items she ate in our inventory on top of a fairy-in-a-jar?), while overstuffing the fairy only gets the player an overstuffed fairy during the minigame, and the effect doesn't linger once the fairy has been rendered immobile, and, of course, the player would've won the game faster and could get the see the fairy as a bloated mess. Basically a contrast of short-term pleasure and speed and long-term gains (pun intended).
