*Sigh*

Today I had a major computer crash that corrupted the project file and made a large majority of the files unreadable. Luckily, I made a backup just a few days ago, but it's certainly not going to be fun to remake the 40+ lost portrait variations that I've done over the last week.

That said, I'll try to keep nose to the grindstone to make sure this doesn't result in a massive period of time with radio silence. I'll try to get them all remade ASAP so that I can work on a new devlog and some insight into when to expect the next big build soon.

Sorry for the bad news delivery, but I'll do what I can to minimize the impact!

Love y'all. Gamemaker will not break the farm. WE WILL NOT LET IT. THIS IS OUR FARM DAMMIT

I make backups as often as possible, and the program autosaves very frequently. But it doesnt stop sprites that it autosaves from corrupting. So the code is fine, but the artwork, not so much. That said, I intend to make manual backups more frequently from now on.

My greatest fear is my PC dying randomly so I feel this. Just keep working at your own pace, it's understandable if it takes a bit to catch back up after that

It super sucks - I hope for the best. I always have my own personal fear of losing a TON of work due to crashes. Still - silver lining if it was only the portraits. Loss is loss, but it's not a game-stopping loss. I don't know to speak for everyone, but, if it's easier for the next build to not have them, I wouldn't mind waiting an extra build.

Nah, they're one of the main things I'm excited about for the next build, so I definitely want to have most if not all of them done by then. I've still got some work to do for the rest of the features, so it'd be a bit of a wait either way, but I'm at least making good progress catching up on everything.

Most of the game autosaves super frequently, but sprites are easily corrupted in these backups. Especially giant sheets of them like the portraits. Even though most of the project was autosaved and backed up, a lot of the portraits I'd worked on got corrupted.
