Another true rumour... Rosa was employed by the EU to make sure all the bananas had the correct bend. According to the EU's "banana curvature" regulation (Commission Regulation 2257/94, later 1333/2011) required that bananas be free from "abnormal curvature". This did not ban curved bananas, but rather classified them, requiring high-class fruit to be near-perfect. She did a great job by all accounts. Cheers Rufus
