The Long Game

I’m not just thinking S28 right now — I’m mapping the entire road to the canonical ending. My working outline currently has:

Two emotional peaks before the finale.

A choice illusion moment where all routes converge… but I guess you already noticed it (as it's hard to work on the 3 possibles yet-endings at the same time alone :()

The Scene That Almost Was

For S27, there was a very raw scene between Mat and Fabien... I cut it for pacing reasons, but I’m debating whether to reframe it in S28… or save it as a turning point later, where it could hit harder.

Branching Dilemmas

These are still on my “maybe” list, but I’m sharing because your input could lock them in or kill them:

Mat’s Private Doubt: A short, quiet moment where Mat admits (to himself or the player) that maybe Fabien isn’t “the one” — even on the canon route.

The Outside Factor: A brand-new character with no past ties, appearing late and challenging player loyalty without being a villain (or re-used a known one ?)

No-Win Choice: A scene where any option costs the player something — relationship points, trust, or self-image.... (I could make that if Mat is single maybe ? I don't know...)

My Current Sticking Point

Switching between main route writing and alternative branches is still a real challenge for me. When I’m deep in one arc, pulling my head out to work on another feels like rebooting my brain. I’m experimenting with a layered workflow (main + micro-branch in same session) — but it’s messy.

I’m not putting these questions to the public yet, but I’d love your take:

Should I push a “doubt” moment into the canon route for more realism, or keep it perfectly idealized?

Do you want late-game branches to be impactful but short, or long enough to feel like a mini-route?

Your feedback here will have a direct impact on what makes it into S28–S29.
