This week we explore the Goblin Universe — a hypothetical dimension conceptualized by a writer named Ted Holiday that incorporates aliens, ghosts, cryptids, and all manner of the unexplained. We go chapter by chapter through Holiday's posthumously-published book, to make sense of this unifying theory of the paranormal.

I don’t know how to explain it but the occult stuff in this episode reminds me so much of the way magic is portrayed in Berserk. Specifically the stuff about the Church imposing order on top of older belief systems.

Holly Robertson

Lol y'all fuckers should have warned me first. This wiggity bullshit requires edibles to be in your system (at the very least) before you hit 'play'. 😂

David Ludwig

I don't know what I'm going into, but John Goblikon better be mentioned.

So if I'm understanding this correctly, if all paranormal is the same and is only interpreted differently by the human mind, then it is all just in our head? Like I've been saying this entire time? Henry, I think you just demonstrated that the paranormal is purely an issue to be found in the human mind. Thank you.

In a previous episode on sea monsters you guys reported a monkey armed, old man faced sea monster. That's a pretty good description of a merrow, perhaps they are still seen just not by people who know the name

This is my absolute favorite episode and I've listened to you guys from the beginning multiple times. with your help, i was finally able to explain the tin can from Hellier to my lovely girlfriend in a way that didn't end with me screaming about how Nancy Reagan lives in your head rent-free. Love you dudes and everything you do! Hail me and also hail yourselves.
