This week the boys make their return to the high seas, breaking down The Tragedy of the Essex, a harrowing tale of blood, whale guts, and cannibalism that would go on to inspire the literary classic "Moby Dick".

I first heard about the Essex when Ask a Mortician did an episode on it. I am so excited (and a little frightened) to hear what the boys do with it!

This makes me so MAD at whalers. Disgusting that I'm almost ready to buy a "save the whales" bumper sticker.

I just watched this movie too, a week or so ago.

Killing one whaler and making it known that's the reason for their death will do more than 100 million bumper stickers.

Whenever the boys set sail I am here for it. There’s something about being shipwrecked/marooned/lost at sea that limmediately takes people to a level of terror similar to “Oh fuck, the spiders have travelled the tube into the colostomy bag”.

Looking forward to the cannibalism part!

Totally agree! Whalers are fucking monsters and I’m really glad this story ends with them eating each other. A satisfying outcome.

No MP3 download?

This episode reminds me a lot of Dishonored and the whaling themes of that game.

This episode has Leviathan from Mastodon written all over it. And of course, very metal.
