Some miscellaneous thoughts -Christmas is all around us... -You can see the through line from Gizmo to Baby Yoda... -I said I'm not a big Christmas movie guy; I find them to be, typically, saccharine and lacking in subtlety. That's why I lean toward Die Hard, I forgot about Gremlins but signed up for it when I was reminded... but I recently remembered about Sandler's most underrated movie, "8 Crazy Nights". Not technically a Christmas movie, but close enough; that's what I'm pushing for next year.

DOB is fucking great. I'm happy he's doing well as the head-writer of a many-times-over Emmy winning series (Last Week Tonight with Daniel O'Brien and also Professor Ian Duncan from Community is in this I guess) but he's great in front of the camera too. Shame what happened to Cracked.

It's funny you said this was like a PG-13 horror movie as it helped lead to the creation of PG-13 actually existing at all. Fun fact one of the cops is actually Buzz from Community and Mike from Breaking Bad. Also the studio was against the casting of the actress who played Kate as she was mostly known for having done a topless scene in Fast Times At Ridgemont High

My sister saw this when she was too young and it traumatized her. She still can’t watch it!
