FUCK YES! Love all you guys who voted for "Walk Hard". I believe I get a movie reaction for my birthday-month; I've recently seen a few reactors react to "Stranger Than Fiction" and I... I didn't really forget how good it was so much as I think I didn't appreciate how good it was the first time I watched it. And "Count of Monte Cristo" was an ear-worm too, so... it was gonna be hard to pass on choosing "Walk Hard" but now I don't have to; I get to knock out one of those 2 and then have just one left...

I feel like the iconic quote from this movie that lives on, above all others, is "The wrong kid died!" But for my money, my favorite might be "You know who's got hands? THE DEVIL!"

I have no idea how this movie didn't win ALL the awards. As just a music biopic, it's perfect; a perfect lampooning of every music biopic that came before and since. The music is *incredible*, and eclectic too. And John C Reilly's performance was perfect. If it wasn't a comedy, he'd've won the Oscar for Best Actor, I'm convinced of it, but the academy just doesn't give a shit about comedies. Too bad.

While a send up of biopics in general and ironically influencing the future of most biopics to follow it is on some level modeled around Johnny Cash - I Walk the Line. I had a fantastic time now rewatching this with you today. It really lifted my spirits.

I pulled a vote out of the movie it was tied with because you'd been sandbagged at the last minute 3 times. Sadly even though I can't think of what the other movie was it would have been a tie and we would have got to see both of them had I not done that. But I'm grateful just to see this. It was better than I remembered even. And I had completely forgotten the let's duet song and laughed throughout the whole thing.

I appreciate that. I keep thinking it would've won so many awards if the Academy didn't dismiss comedies. To some degree "who cares?" is a valid response, but I like when talent, hard work, and creativity are recognized, celebrated, rewarded. John C Reilly should've won the Oscar for Best Actor, the script at least should've won an award, the music for sure should've gotten something. The music is SO damn good.
