Yep, you are correct. Shannen Doherty was in fact on Charmed. Although my knowledge of that show pretty much begins and ends with the fact that Shannen Doherty was on that show so I can't speak to what role she played on it. You may have recognized the guy that played the third suitor on the game show as Dante Hicks from the Clerks movies we've watched on here (except he had shorter hair and a goatee in the Clerks movies and was clean shaven and had a mullet in this one). This was in fact Kevin Smith's second feature film after the original Clerks. To go from hiring his friends to film a black and white movie that takes place pretty much exclusively in a convenience store to actually having the budget to hire honest to goodness stars in the span of a year or so is quite the feat. Any who, glad you had fun with yet another one of my "fun 90ish minute series of events that make up a movie" that I tend to recommend when it comes to movies🙂👍 Get well soon. Here's to a happy and healthy 2026. If all goes as planned we are definitely in for some fun around here in the near future. 😏

I knew it! He was on Clerks!! Thank you David, have a lovely new year

Wow my memory is a scary mixed up place. Apparently most of what I remember fondly of this movie is actually in Chasing Amy. Hopefully you put that one up into circulation, David. Ana, I hope you get well soon. And while Stan Lee was a God in the comics world the Marvel Cinematic Universe had not happened yet so in the film business he was not as hard to draw in and Kevin Smith and him either were before this or became after this fairly good friends. I'm not certain on the timetable there.

David Cleveland

I definitely plan on throwing Chasing Amy onto the poll sooner rather than later and hoping for the best. If not next month then definitely for February to be about as on theme for Valentine's Day as I would care to be (I generally don't get on with Rom Coms but upon further review I find Chasing Amy to be quite good by my usually hated Rom Com standards)

Topher 🤪

Well it certainly isn't a typical Rom com. I never felt that mallrats had the same energy or spark that Clerks and chasing Amy hand. Definitely count on my vote.

Fun Fact: The two guys Brodie and Quint get into a fight with in front of the comic book store were played by guys that were friends with Kevin Smith long before he made "Clerks". The blonde guy with the ponytail is Bryan Johnson. He also worked at the Quick Stop with Kevin, and was the actual inspiration for Randall. The guy with the red hockey jersey is Walt Flanagan. You have seen him before in "Clerks" as a couple of different characters; including the "highly offended" customer, and the crazy "egg inspector". After this film, when Kevin decided to open a comic book store near his hometown, he hired Walt to be the store's manager, who wound up doing that for ~20 or so years before retiring. The two also have a podcast they've had for the past 16 years called "Tell 'Em Steve-Dave". Besides Bry and Walt, it's also hosted by Brian "Q" Quinn; one of the guys from that show "Impractical Jokers". Not sure if a podcast with 3 Gen-Xers shooting the bull and making each other laugh would interest a Millennial/Gen-Zer like you, but it's worth checking out.

Hey folks, we've gotta get her to put "Chasing Amy" on a future poll. Something tells me she would love that movie!

David Cleveland

I recommended it for the poll. Now's the matter of it getting enough votes to win the movie of the month. Therein lies the challenge🤔
