Yeah, it *was* a fun show. I think maybe one reason it flew under the radar was that it was cancelled after only 13 episodes; best show ever to only last 13. Bummer. "Not so happy now, I imagine." "Nothing; you're perfectly normal." "That's very droll; you learn that in college?" (That whole back-and-forth is really fun.) "Camilla's French, Eddie, she's immune to your insincerities." "Oh, I'm very sincere." "Pete's not too particular but he's usually pretty quick." "Well you know what they say: pets resemble their owners." "Yeah, like my cat, Duchess, is the Queen Bitch of England." "Drugs?" "No, I'm clean." "The dog; does the dog sniff them?" "Oh, yes. I mean, he's not addicted or anything."

Great pilot. Most of my favorite shows have a really strong pilot; setting up the premise beautifully and having an intriguing hook that gets you back for episode 2. Arrested Development Veronica Mars Life Psych Keen Eddie Misfits Dexter (god damn is Dexter good; season 1-5 are some of the best seasons in tv history; there are lulls, season 3 was definitely a bit of an ebb between 2 great seasons on both sides, although it really benefits on rewatches IMO.) Newsradio Reaper The Good Guys Community gets SO much better as you get into it, so in terms of quality compared to the bulk of the show the pilot suffers, but it's a great pilot in terms of establishing the premise and characters and dynamic (at least as much as one possibly could in just one episode). Party Down is similar to Arrested Development IMO; it hits the ground running, the writers really knew what the show was about and it didn't take any time figuring things out Sense8 (maybe doesn't exactly set up the show's premise perfectly because so much is left unexplained, but damn is it intriguing) Farscape (it's not legit *great* until we get into season 2, I think; season 1 only flashes that, it's mostly only good to very good - depending on the ep - until then, but the pilot undoubtedly does a great job of setting up the premise of the show... although the real conflict, the main antagonist, isn't really introduced until late season 1, until then it's just episodic adventures. Which, again: fun. But that's why IMO it doesn't hit its peak until later.) Invincible has a banger hook of a post-episode stinger

I'd LOVE to have you react to Veronica Mars, Psych, and Farscape, but I think all 3 really need to just be a once per week thing, not just once a month via the Patreon high tier whatever. You said you already watched Sense8 and Misfits; you've reacted to Arrested Development and Community and Invincible. Have you seen "Dexter"? If not, that probably needs to join VM, Psych, and Farscape as shows that need to be a weekly thing when there's an opening. (IMO Daria should be there too; I'd like to see Daria replace Futurama when it's time.) I think, before we resume (and finish) Life, I may hit up the others; I might have you react to the pilot ep of Reaper... although I might do the best ep, rather than Pilot, for The Good Guys and Newsradio. If Newsradio is short enough (I really can't remember) than maybe we can do the Pilot *and* the best episode.

I'll definitely second the notion that Daria needs to be a weekly thing and would make a great replacement for Futurama once we're done with that. Even better would be Ana making an executive decision like "Dang it, I love Daria and it needs to be a more than once in a while thing" (like weekly at very, VERY least every other week) well before we're done with Futurama. Though that'd probably require some paying of dues in the form of consistently recommending it through the Binge Watcher Tier for at least a season or so.🤔

I have never heard of this show. And I've never been a fan of mark valley who tends to play bland characters blandly which I suppose is what is called for which probably means he's the right man for those roles. So it was nice to see him step outside of that zone and I must say the script was quite good- some excellent back and forth. I quite enjoyed this and I think I'll track down the rest of the episodes. That was an excellent recommendation and an excellent reaction.
