Rick Prime erased all versions of Diane with the omega device I don’t think the final scene was a pop culture reference to anything. I think Rick was calling himself Morty’s dad in reference to it basically being like showing Morty how to ride a bike. Morty seems to be embracing Rick as his father figure, which definitely isn’t good but too weird and complex to be completely bad I liked the first episode of President Curtis!

Really great episode, although a really depressing one! It kind of feels like the show doesn't know whether it wants to have a heart underneath it all, or to just be irredeemably bleak. But beside that, I agree that it didn't really feel like a finale.

Great episode, but yes it did not feel like a season finale. No major plot point resolved or things being left as a cliffhanger. Could have easily been used earlier in the season. I was also sad for Professor Rick. Usually Morty is a so kind hearted I am surprised he didn't decide to give up on going home after seeing how Prof Rick was changing.
