Invincible REACTION | Episode 4

I'm replying to this pretty late, but I have something to say about it now, so... I still haven't seen it BUT I did (relatively) recently read the entire run of Invincible comics, so I think I've got it. It was an incredible run, I loved it so much, I stayed up way too late 2 nights in a row to knock it out (it would've been one sleepless night but I had work). I say that partially to clarify: I haven't seen the Atom Eve special but having read the comic book I think I've got the gist. Partially to highly recommend the comic - if you want the show to surprise you, if you're patient enough that you're going to stick with the show until it hopefully concludes or maybe is cancelled, then that's a solid reason for putting off reading the comic... I couldn't do it, I would expect something like 7 seasons? But mostly (and I'm going to repost this under a new Ana reaction, probably her next "Invincible" reaction, so other people can see it) I want to shout out the library: the reason I was able to access and read the entire run was that some time ago I got my library card and have access to several great, free, sites. Hoopla, I believe, is the one that had all 3 collections of "Invincible" (plus 2 that take place in that world but are anthologies, not part of the saga), and so I was able to borrow a digital copy, for free with no waiting and no need to return it, and just rip it off in short order. The library provided me a flyer that had several sites on it, between them you've got ebooks and comics, audiobooks, tv shows and movies... the free streaming tv show/movie site doesn't necessarily have a *great* selection, but there's good stuff in there, and intriguing stuff... and if you, like me, are finding Netflix tiresome (on the surface Netflix has good stuff, quality stuff, but after a few months it seems like I - and others, based on what I've heard - reach this point where you spend more time scrolling than watching. And it's more expensive, cracking down on sharing passwords, and I've heard they're doing ads soon? So... definitely want to inform people that the library provides a free alternative, in addition to the ebooks and audiobooks.)

The music in this show... is so FUCKING good.

Also... yeah, Atom Eve's dad is an asshole, BUT it makes sense for them (both parents, not just him) to want somebody to have her back, right? Like I said with Rex's comment about Monster Girl being too young: I get that you don't like the messenger, but he has a point. There *should* be an age requirement. And for Atom Eve, being still in high school, she definitely should have somebody to have her back. I *especially* thought that before I knew her powers; I thought she had, like, shields or something. So that if she was caught unaware, she could get her ass just *handed* to her. She then said (next episode?) that she could alter atoms on a molecular level and... I didn't necessarily think she was exaggerating or lying, but I thought maybe over-simplifying? Then in that one episode, she made a treehouse out of nothing, and it's like... oh, so you're a fucking GOD then?!? I mean, just turn your human cells into Viltrumite cells; turn Omni-Man's cells into oatmeal. Not that hard, Atom Eve. You're a fucking GOD, you should be able to solve all the problems in the world over the course of a few weeks. Get on it.
