You mentioned that you haven't seen "Sixteen Candles", so I'm also curious if you've seen "Goodfellas" which most of the structure of S01E21 was based on?

No, I haven't watched Goodfellas! It is actually in my list of movies I want to react to.

If it is any consolation, the real S01E22 is one of my least favorite episodes and the one you reacted to is one of my favorite.

I haven't played paintball myself (though I mean to try it sometime), but I'm pretty sure you have to wear at least a face mask in real games. I think that the ones they were using in this episode must have been very low power!

One of the best 10-15 episodes of the show! (It's such a great fucking show.) Seriously, this ep is when Community starts to *really* get weird. My favorite eps, out of context too much for anybody to get it unless they've seen it so no spoilers: Paintball Video game Civil War Doc Meow Meow Beans Law and Order

I've been Googling around, and it seems like the power of paintball guns does vary, for example there are lower powered ones intended to be used by children. Since Dean Pelton was shot on the bare skin of his forehead, maybe they used a low powered one for that.
