Kei has every right to be mad, but she isn't. She internalized her responsibility so much that in her head there was no other possible choice, so she can't blame anyone. On the one hand, good for her because it allows her to have a better relationship with her mother and it keeps her from lamenting over things that cannot be changed, but on the other hand, not so good for her because her childhood was taken from her and she just accepted it.

Regarding Izumi, he's currently more concerned about his relationship with Kei than about his mom 💧 He always knew he had been dead weight on her, but he didn't know to what point, and she's the only family he loves to the point of wanting her in his life (he does love his parents, but he wants them at a certain distance because he doesn't feel close to them).

I like to over analyse my own characters because it helps me understand what they go through and why they are the way they are ♥

Also, I really wanted to draw Izumi as a teenager with his school uniform (^v^)

Awww. I'm glad they're sort of talking all of this out. I love Kei's response to Izumi though. It's a very sibling response.😂

Ok, I know this a supposed to be a very side story to the main plot, but I am way too invested in this to want to leave it. I want to know more! What happens next for the Aki family?!😭

"I'm proud of you and want nothing but happiness for you" - I think they needed to hear that

This side plot resonates with my upbringing... 1) parent prioritized their spouse over wellbeing of their children. 2) taking care of siblings at a young age influenced my interest in having kids. The difference is my parents are not at a state of mind to acknowledge anything. It's interesting to read what the mother said to give me an idea of what that could look like... it's been so abstract and I don't know what I'd want to hear if ever they do acknowledge it. Inma, thanks for carefully thinking out this conversation. I enjoy the way you develop stories.
