Couple: Kei x Sara (The Violinist and the Nerd)
Canon: yes. It takes place a few months before the beginning of season 2.
--------------------------
Sara's pub had become Kei's favourite place for a few months now. Some friends had taken her there on a particularly bad day for her and since then she had been back almost every day, with or without them.
The place was charming and the type of clientele quite atypical: it was common to find women holding hands as more than just friends or men who were closer to each other than was common anywhere else. Kei liked this atmosphere because it reminded her that people like her brother, who had recently entered into a homosexual relationship, could have safe spaces in the world.
Being bisexual, Kei could have identified that place as a safe place for her, yet she had thought of her brother first, as always. Perhaps because although she had been with both men and women, she didn't consider love a vital part of her life. Breakups had hurt at times, especially when she was a teenager, but over time Kei had come to realise that her most enduring and fruitful love affair had been with her work, and she had no intention of that changing.
However, the real reason Kei had become hooked on her nightly escapades to this place had been the waitress, who happened to be the owner.
Sara was a cheerful girl with whom one could talk about anything. She had interesting opinions, and even when she disagreed with you, she knew how to express it so as not to create a conflict. Kei was fascinated by her social skills and how she made everyone want to come back, including herself.
On Halloween night, Kei dressed accordingly for the pub party. She arrived dressed as a vampiress in tighter clothes than was normal for her. Was she trying to make Sara find her sexy? No, they were just friend, nothing else.
And yet, the first thing she did as soon as she entered the colourful party of monsters was to look for her.
Although Sara was quite short, she wasn't difficult to spot behind the bar in her pointy witch's hat and black dress.
"She looks so pretty," Kei thought, blushing. She shook her head and approached her without a word because she looked busy (parties were always like that).
Sara was pacing back and forth, talking to everyone, but she stopped when her eyes met Kei's.
"Wow," she said, smiling, "a vampire in my coven? How bold."
Kei let out a small chuckle. "Coven" was the name of the party, so she supposed dressing as a witch would have made more sense. Why hadn't she?
"Because you don't want to be just another girl, you want to nuzzle her neck and bite her," a little voice in her head replied. Kei cleared her throat and pretended to be distracted by the ceiling decoration. Sara continued to attend to everyone at full speed with no sign of fatigue, even though Kei knew it was impossible.
It was okay if Sara didn't pay attention to her, it was normal. Sara was working and giving 100% just like Kei always did. For the first time, Kei thought of all the partners who had left her because of her extreme dedication to work and felt some sympathy for them.
"Hey," Sara's voice spoke in her ear from behind; she had gone out to serve some drinks and had approached her first. "When it's closing time, don't leave. Stay a little longer to chat with me, okay?"
Kei felt her heart pumping harder, but she just smiled and nodded so it wouldn't show.
The party felt endless to her, but a few hours and many drunkards later, it was finally over and Sara had locked the doors.
The girl plopped down on one of the soft sofas with a sigh. "I'm dead, very fitting for the holiday."
Kei sat next to her with her frilly shirt slightly open from the heat, though now that everyone had left, the atmosphere had begun to cool.
"Do you have to clean all this up now? Shall I help you?"
"You're so cute," laughed Sara, touching her arm. "Tomorrow the cleaning company will come and make this place as good as new, I don't want anything to do with it."
Sara moved a little closer to her and Kei felt how the silence of the room betrayed her agitated breathing.
"You're gorgeous, but you're not a vampire."
"Why not?"
"Because you haven't bitten me all night."
Kei looked into her eyes and found that the intensity with which they were looking at each other was mutual. Almost without thinking, Kei gave Sara's shoulder a gentle nudge to lay her down on the couch and she laid on top of her.
"I'm a very respectful vampire, I wasn't going to do it while you were working," she told her, her voice a whisper in the silence of the room.
"I am no longer working and there is no one to help this poor little witch, so you can do whatever you want to me without consequences."
That last sentence was all it took for Kei to move closer to her neck. She had wanted to kiss her for a long time, but she was afraid of losing her friendship and that things would end up between them like they always had with previous partners. However, Sara was inviting her to give free rein to her desires "without consequences". They didn't have to become girlfriends only to hurt each other later, they could just experiment and enjoy the moment.
Kei's lips caressed her neck before moistening the area with her tongue. Sara wrapped her arms around her and twisted her head to expose more of her skin. Then Kei bit her, softly and slowly, eliciting a low moan from her.
Kei kissed her way up her neck to her collarbone, marvelling at the taste and texture of her porcelain skin. She approached Sara's lips and paused mere millimetres away, considering whether or not to succumb to her desires.
"If you don't kiss me at once, I swear I'm gonna go crazy," Sara whispered, and Kei didn't think twice: her lips trapped Sara's in a game of sucking and caressing.
Kei felt the world spinning at an uncontrollable speed. She kissed her furiously as her eager hands touched her up and down as Sara spread her legs so that Kei's body pressed against hers. They both breathed as best they could between kisses and little moans of pleasure
.
Kei grabbed her thighs, pressing her pelvis indirectly against her clit, and Sara responded by invading her mouth with her tongue.
Kei felt an orgasm between her legs, throbbing as her head became intoxicated with Sara's scent and taste.
Sara, the nice waitress who got along with everyone.
Sara, the girl with the pink lips and the smile as bright as the sunrise.
Sara.
Sara.
Her partner's moans betrayed her orgasm, but Kei wanted more. She was afraid that this crazy witches' night would be over and she would never be able to kiss her again, so she went on and slid between her legs to taste her down there too.
Sara grabbed her hair and arched her back with a deep moan, consenting to whatever Kei wanted to do.
And Kei did everything her impulses asked of her, kissing, touching and caressing with her lips and tongue everywhere she could. And she let herself be done too, again and again, between moans, giggles and orgasms until they were both so tired that they fell asleep in each other's arms.
When Kei woke up, around six in the morning, Sara was wrapping her with arms and legs on the couch that had witnessed their erotic secrets the night before. Kei looked at her as if she had never seen anything more beautiful in her life, and that which had given her wings to give and take all she had wanted echoed in her head with a suffocating weight.
"No consequences."
But Kei did want consequences. She wanted to try, she wanted...
"Good morning, Kei," Sara's voice brought her out of her devastated thoughts.
"Did you sleep well?" Kei asked, not quite sure what else to say.
"My back hurts like I've been beaten up," Sara laughed as she stood up and rearranged her clothes a bit.
"Yeah, maybe it wasn't the best idea to sleep like that," Kei replied, hiding the strange anxiety that had crept into her heart.
"No, but everything else we did last night was indeed the best idea we've ever had in our entire lives. I speak for both of us with the authority of being..."
Sara stopped and looked at her, a little perplexed by her own occurrence. "What am I?"
Kei stood up and held her hand, feeling that she shouldn't let this opportunity slip away.
"The woman I want to wake up with every morning?"
Kei frowned. It had sounded more intense than she had intended. She just wanted to ask her to be her girlfriend and it sounded like she was asking Sara to marry her. Why was everything so hard? She didn't want to scare her away.
When she snapped out of her head and back to the real world, she saw that Sara was blushing.
"Well, I like that."
Kei's eyes lit up.
They sat together at breakfast while they waited for the cleaners to arrive and laughed and told each other a thousand anecdotes from the party the night before.
"Maybe this time it will work. Maybe this is the one," Kei thought, and made up her mind. She would take care of Sara, give her the best of herself and hide all the bad things so that between them there would only be laughter and beautiful moments like that one. Everything would be perfect.
Would that finally work?
END.

Author's note: well, no (laugh). Kei starts the relationship by giving Sara only the good things, but Sara wants the whole package: the good and the bad. That's how we meet her in season 2 of the series, very angry because Kei never tells her anything. But now, in season 3, all that has changed and they finally have that balance that makes them a perfect match ♥
