I think infusing haki into weapons etc. is just more obviously visualized from now on, because it's more relevant to winning the battles. It's just easier for the audience to understand what's going on this way. Doesn't mean people weren't using it before, we just didn't necessarily knew it was used before and probably weren't supposed to. But I get your point too, it was kind of weird to reveal it this way.

tobi

i felt like i was suffocating without an episode, thank you🤕

Lucille Waters

I think the reason why everyone is using haki now is to show that the marines in the new world are just next lvl. Everyone in the new world is excepionally powerful compared to the beginning of the grand line (except the people who have been born there of course).

Drakojin

For reference... The navy sword haki was not in the Manga. (although it is heavily implied that most in marineford did use it and many in the new world can) The Manga also only tells that luffy has 1min to go. The last time (before everyone pushed) the cage was mentioned was 3min with an explicit statement that they slow it down. Rebecca's run up was also less than a page. Those 2eps were less than a chapter per episode and it shows. Well, dressrosa has more eps than chaps. If you want to recheck it: 788-789 (finishes with the thumbnail shot)

Drakojin

For good measure: pacing is ASS

Paldrun

Fun fact: Reason why Viola and Doffy call each other like that is because they slept with each other. Yes Oda confirmed. Sanji would go mad if he knew :D

Guys stop teasing us and finish the next One Piece recording already

Vergo infused his bambo blowgun with Haki, and Vista did it back in Marineford. + Most likely every top tier and semi decent new world captain and Marine captain. For all we know Mihawk might have used it on the "butterknife".

Benjamin Hütz

I think most of the people in marineford used haki. we just werent meant to see it back then (or oda had not fully figured it out yet)

One thing i always wonder about: It is known that the op-op fruit has this one-time immortality-ability. That means someone had used it in the past on someone. So there is at least one immortal being out there.

Ender

Finally back with Bad Pace Piece👏🏾

It makes people ageless, but still susceptible to dying by conventional means

Cloud Kitsune

Amazon Lily all used haki on arrows and stuff, but we never saw it actually coating their weapons. It only makes sense that the Marines of the New World should also be able to do the same, otherwise how are they surviving? XD

FryLord

My chest hurts laughing at the reaction to the navy soldiers imbuing their swords with haki...simply priceless and that was a massive rip in the shorts And holy crap Oda is the goat...Gyat's speech says way more than it seems

i'm sure they didn't "sleep with each other" but rather Doffy 🍇ed her, and she just had to live with that fact but yes, for reference this's what the question and answer were: " D: I love the Dressrosa arc and have read it many times... but there is one thing I don't really understand. So I sent this question to the current sbs and you. "Why did Viola and Doflamingo call each other "Doffy", "Violet" in chapter 788 "How I fight"?" What were both of them thinking of at that time back then? P.N. Fuki " " O: Hm, she was dashing against the enemy. There is a deep secret setting I can't tell you about though. I informed the supervisor about it, but since it is a pretty adult part of the story it remains hidden in the shonen manga which One Piece is. To all adults, please try to imagine yourselves. Dressrosa is truly a passionate country!! "

I would argue that yes, the anime pacing is bad, but it was always kind of like this. The arc is also not that well paced and structured in the manga, so that is only worsened in the adaptation. I don't know how many people were following it week to week 10 years ago, but at this point people were DONE with this arc. Like negatively speaking. There were a lot of people that were done with the series as a whole and would only return years later. It speaks volumes that the anime pacing nowadays is still kind of the same, but it is nowhere near the same problem.

Blessed be Prez' predictions, for they shall come back to bite him quickly (I'm in tears from [9:22] 😂) Not just Batolomeo. So many people were crucial. Cavendish, Usopp, Viola - if any piece had been missing, we'd be screwed. And I love that. It's not just 'wait for Luffy to punch the big bad', but everyone.
