Pacifica is really a better fit with Dipper, but he hasn't really realized it yet, considering he's still hung up on Wendy. I read it can take 3-4 months to get over a breakup, and I'd assume it can be similar to a hardcore crush... Mabel doesn't suffer with that, 'cause her crushes are pretty superficial and sporadic, which isn't unusual for young girls who like/crush on a lot of things/people. XD
