I wanted to take this time to explain something that I just explained to someone in Discord. In the meantime, you're welcome to speculate as to what's going on in the image above!

I myself follow and support a lot of creators here on Patreon, so I know as well as anyone that it's common for devs to share previews and teasers like the one above pretty frequently. However, I personally am very anti-spoiler. I like to keep our cards close to our chest: I strongly dislike revealing new characters, sharing renders directly from the upcoming chapter, sharing new music or environments, showing the girls nude before they've gotten naked in-game, etc.

This is not just me being prickly. In my mind, the less people know about the upcoming chapter, the better it is when they inevitably play it as they're more or less going in blind.

Because of this, and without things to share, frequent or routine "progress reports" become a little dull and bland and I start to feel like a broken record who's just regurgitating more of the same thing ("We're working on it," "It's coming," etcetera), so I'll generally only post these when I have something major or truly worthwhile to say.

This can leave an element of doubt in players minds. I can definitely understand that and for those reasons I'm sorry. I don't want people to think we're not working or be anxious in between updates. I myself am very much a proactive person who spends almost every waking moment on these games... even if it probably doesn't seem like it. Without work, I'm bored and unmotivated, which is just a depressing feeling, so I almost always find ways to keep myself busy.

So yeah, I guess what I'm saying is... we're absolutely working on it, and I'm sorry for not doing a better job of conveying this! I hope to one day be to a point where players simply know they can trust me... and I think after I release the massive (15k lines of code and counting) 5th chapter of Polarity... and the hefty/extremely entertaining 4th chapter of Radiant, people will maybe(?) start to see that. In the meantime, ty for the support!

Sir Dammned

P.S. Much like last year, I'll be sharing a ton of stuff throughout the month of December in the spirit of the holidays, so I hope you're looking forward to that!

Annoying Wizard

I understand your point. I also have had a number of creators seem to drop off the face of the Internet. A happy middle-ground might be a short progress report that details how many lines of code and renders have been completed for the next update?

Gary Hempel

Hope you and yours are doing g well.

Dark Pink

I understand your point and I respect it, in case you can leave it as it is without giving a spoiler, but if it would be great if the updates were faster, because wait 4 or 5 months the truth is very fucking. really screwed. But you have our support and you will continue to have it ❤️

Kieran

I'm always happy to see a post but my support won't dwindle in the mean time. :D

George Peters

Completely agree with your no spoilers policy! Keep up the excellent work!

Kris Essler

You can't rush perfection. I would rather wait for a flawless game than and incomplete and rushed version. Take all the time you need.

Crowangel Gaming

also agreed on NO SPOILERS - We wait in anticipation for these AVNs regardless of the publishers so why the hell spoil something we have paid and followed the development of by getting tid bits of info and then speculating that may or may not be right, may or may not then dissapoint what visions we developed in our heads from that spoiler.. Take your time with development and release whatever YOU feel like is appropiate but dont feel rushed and deliver the project to your time scale and expectations

AlphaEcho

The occasional "Hey, I'm still here. I haven't been swallowed by a Black Hole" post, is all that is needed. I don't like spoilers, either. I may have a preconceived notion of where the story is going, but I do like surprise twists and sudden bombs that make me think. Quality is everything. This isn't FAP-Nation... ;)

FapTimeStudio

No story spoilers, but like the status updates (say 50% done with renders...) and REALLY like the bonus renders (builds the anticipation). Keep doing what you do, looking forward to your next update.

Whatsupdoc214

Agree. I do not like spoilers but appreciate some form of status. No worries. We support you and your efforts. Keep up the good work.

Cheesy

I don't think anyone is expecting a constant stream of pictures of characters or a breakdown of the story. But getting an update on what you've done(renders/dialogue/etc) would help greatly once a month. Not seeing anything for months is disheartening. Love your work, both Polarity and Radiant are some of my favorites and am looking forward to playing the new content. *I've seen a few creators use a progress bar/s. Either a simple 0-100% or something a little more in depth that shows how much of the writing/coding/art/testing. I'm all for no spoilers, getting the full experience is the best.

Solstorm

Some Devs I support have a graph of where they are in the process like text renders coding. This gives basic info where you are at in game production don't need estimate when it comes out, I have found some devs have ghosted and later to find out they had quit a long time ago, I really love Radiant! And a little assurance you are still going strong goes a long way

Skummy the Kat

To put some perspective on this, I have followed Sir Damned since early Polarity days, like legit when eh first released. He used to do progress bars and the like, but people got pissed, because it would just sit at nearly done for months as he kept finding more things that needed work. While many a shill has bled out the goodwill left in people, I can totally grasp why things are the way that they are, because on the internet-you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. However, this is merely my observation of how Dammed's work has gone on over the years. He's got a proven track record for me, but for others that's less the case.

Dorblaron

Well i would like to thank you for the reassurance, with such a long time between releases and no word from you it CAN be a bit nerve racking. That being said you have to be true to your process and we have to wait, and i for one eagerly await the next release of radiant. Also i wasnt aware you were working on other games, things a long way to explaining the wait. But i have all the confidence in the world that the a fore mentioned wait will be well worth it. Thank you for the quality of your work and the time you spend on it.

Jinx Defusing

Thank you, brother. Spoilers are not wanted by most, it seems. So you're good. But, I mean... How about Maddie's titties? Come on. Just this once.

MGC1969

You are doing great things in ensuring our eternal satisfaction. As much as I appreciate your reassurance that Chapter 4 is forthcoming, I would not want to rush the process as you have not failed to deliver thusfar. Keep up the great work an know this: You have my support based on the work you have done up to this point. Thanks for all you do. I await with baited breath Chapter 4.
