Well, quite the pleasant surprise, a new DLC for Darkest Dungeon has been announced, adding two of the classes from DD2, the Duelist and the Runaway.

As I'm sure many of you assume, yes I intend to make mods for these. The DLC is releasing in roughly a month. I will probably be done with the Siren by then, so I will make it my main focus then to make mods for the two new classes. Assuming this doesn't break any of my existing mods, in which case fixing that would be a priority too.

Bro, I had to go check steam on my phone to see the official announcement. HOLY SMOKES I CANT BELIEVE IT. It’s not that huge but I’m excited nonetheless.

A dlc for the FIRST Darkest Dungeon? That's insane lol

DBG

Oooh! New characters with your art style will be a wonderful addition to my collection! Good luck! (I hope you plan to add a nice booty display on duelist for one of her attack 😂)

I'm sure I'll find opportunities for plenty of booty

DBG

Glad to hear that (I just found DD’s dlc announcement in X, so I discovered the new dlc from your post first lmao)

This is super hype! I've been hoping to see your take on the dd2 heroes.

I don't think it'd break any existing mods, especially none of yours that are solely cosmetic. The Red Hook devs know how big the modding community has become, considering the game hasn't gotten any updates in 6 years, so it is firmly in that stage where modders have gotten comfortable because they didn't forsee any further updates. To that end, as far as I've seen, they plan to just add NEW content, not change any existing stuff. At worst, some mods that edit heroes (stats, specifically) will need to add in a line for their base stats to account for the new "burn" debuff.

They've said they are working to try and avoid breaking existing mods, and my mods are not really the kind of thing that's particularly susceptible to that, but it's still worth keeping in mind.

Worst case scenario, might need to apply some patches with new mechanics. Honestly Darkest Dungeon 1 is so easy to mod if all you're doing is purely changing existing stuff. Even someone like me with zero coding experience can take a crack at it with Notepad++. Just gotta recognize patterns and how different things interact with eachother. In my own experience, I had to go and manually add some lines in order to link images from your mods to work as riposte animations, because I had gameplay mods that added ripostes to more characters (all of them, technically, because of an ability Plague Doctor was given)

Not gonna lie, you modding the new heroes was the first thing that popped into my mind after i saw the announcement from Red Hook :D. This only solidifies my support for you and your incredible work. Keep cooking Xel, love your mods.

make that ass fat for our booty lovers! (myself included)
