Mandatory Media Dissection Poll!

  • Lisey's Story (both book and show--maybe like medium negative?) 9
  • My first experience at a live MLS soccer game (positive! but weird!) 25
  • Arlington Road (positive and complex for this 90s domestic terrorism thriller throwback) 3
  • Servant Season 2 (which would cover S1 too. Loved S1, S2 is starting to lose me) 2
  • Pool (as in the game! I played a lot of it! This would probably end up more like a David Foster Wallace introspective essay on Game and Man) 32
  • Lower Decks (postive) 21
  • All the Bad Star Trek My Brother and I Watched While Drinking (no moral judgment is capable of containing this) 74
  • 1971: The Year Music Changed Everything (amazing documentary, would also be an introspective essay) 6
  • The Color of Money (DID NOT AGE WELL OMFG WOW) 4
  • RobotJox (what is there to say about Joe Haldeman's masterpiece of cinema?) 5
  • Love Island UK (it's unforgivable trash and yet I have watched...a lot of it.) 13
  • 2021-08-10

What shall I review this month?

Since I was home with family for a month I have quite a few more options than usual in the "read, played, watched" categories! Once again, my judgment is in parentheses so you can see what to expect.

What's on the slab, guys?

Bad Star Trek sounds so good/so much fun to read about!

Elise Matthesen (also known as Lioness)

Pool! I haven't played in so long. Besides the Obvious Reason for Not Socializing (there is no pool table in my house, so I only ever play out), one of my two pool buddies joined the choir invisible some years back, and there's just no commuter rail with a conveniently located pool hall at a midway stop. I'm not good at it, but I sure do enjoy it. Would love to see you play and have fun.
