Same thought, I feel so bad that this group could have been a megahit, but no the song is not that great, it’s even worse when I read the lyrics tbh. But I love the girls and this performance so so much :))). Anyway, happy new year Dylan!

GOT has a lot of potential but the song is whack and not properly mixed and the lyrics are out right atrocious. God I hate that SM dangled a super GG infront of me and then served this 💀 I want to sue them for this let down

I got shocked reading the translation. It could have been about 7 warriors slaying in Kwangya, but for some idk reasons, SM decided to make it that cringy.

Yup after I was done fangirling over our iconic old hags, I was like, "What a shame, that was a horrendous song" LOL

GOT the Beat is like a subunit I think? Like NCT 127 and Dream. Apparently they're supposed to come in and out in multiple units. Crazy

yes that's exactly what the lyrics should have been about!! so fucking disappointing

I actually liked it, perhaps because it is so unlike anything SNSD/RV/Boa would ever do.

I'm still not over how much I dislike the song lol, it was so vindicating to finally see someone not pretend it's great when I watched the YT version of this. If I'm understanding correctly, Girls On Top is the name of the group/project, but it isn't a fixed lineup. So GOT the beat is the "Step Back" lineup, and presumably the next release's "unit" will be called something else.
