#SundayRundown Bleach Repost from least week since unsure yall are going back to those comments. The conflict of Aizen and Urahara is that of Nietzsche's Übermensch vs the Last Man. The Übermensch is someone who saw that all values are fake, that god is dead, but instead of falling into despair/submission or nihilism, he gains strength from it and transcendents from man to super man. Aizen, mostly thanks to his ego, only saw this as even more evidence that he was completely right (debatable) and wants to change the system so that it fits his ideals, whatever those may be. Urahara on the other hand (seemingly) gave into the system. Not because he wants it, but because he can't see any other way. Aizen is someone who sees the system as incorrect and lead by a force he doesn't belive. While Urahara knows the system works well enough and doesn't want to change it. Depending on your point of view it's a fight of a man wanting to change the system for the betterment he belives in while Urahara wants to keep things the same for stability. Which parallels our world with systems staying in power for stability whether or not they should stay as decades pass. Btw would be super disappointed if yall switch to sub and we loose JYB Ichigo and the others.

#SundayRundown That whole episode (342)was filler except the very end 😭 I’m excited to see your thoughts on this arc as it has a split base of people disliking it as well as the people who appreciate and notice what it’s suppose to mean to Ichigo as a character.

#SundayRundown #Bleach I wrote this last week but just in case you missed it Gin and Yammy are dead. A shame, but it is what it is. I wrote my thoughts about the Arrancar arc in the last post so I won't go into detail here. With that said, a new arc begins! Funnily enough, that whole fireworks and ice-skating thing didn't happen in the manga, it simply transitioned from Ichigo passing out after his talk with Urahara into him waking up inside his house, losing his Shinigami powers and saying goodbye to Rukia. That Orihime joke scene....I think I got something but it's like a weird reference to one of her scenes that got cut in the anime at the start of the series. (In the manga, before her brother turns into a hollow, Orihime hums a Do-Re-Mi-Fa tune and matches it with names of various objects/places until she stumbles across Ichigo and Rukia training in the park) https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Foe5h6bxwhc3a1.jpg So now that we know that Orihime plays this weird word assosciation game, I think she did this exact thing in the last episode but with the names of japanese comedians. And so she couldn't decide whether to match the tone of "Do" with "Dokuro-dan" or "Doburoku". "Dokuro-Dan" means "skull clan" and "Doburoku" means "unfiltered sake", that's why Orihime had drawings of a skull and a sake bottle with her on that paper. https://imgur.com/a/ZVgq3UL It's a weird joke, it doesn't quite work because there is nothing established about Orihime ever humming the Do-Re-Mi song before and to top it all off it requires you to know the JP language to understand the visual aspect of it. In essence, a tragedy in the making for anyone trying to Dub this scene.

#Sundayrundown . Do you guys still think Rukia is at a level to have bankai ? . She's not even a lieutenant . Funny thing is I remember Rana saying "for some reason people want us to know this" in a tone lol. We were saying it for a reason

#SundayRundown Ep 20 of Fmab has so many layers and I love it. Hohenheim knew how Ed was and that if he just showed up and tried to tell him about his 'mom' Ed wouldn't listen. But by winding Ed up he was able to drive him to discover the truth for himself and be able to give the brothers some closure.

#SurajdayRanadown (FmAB(Reposted from last week's but also the Lust v Mustang sequence is one of the best in anime)) - Holy Motown I've got a lot for you today. First off, I know anime fans so Rana might be getting some crap for referring to alchemy as "magic" instead of science but like...real world alchemy was deeply rooted in mysticism so like...she's right lol. It wasn't until alchemy made it's way from Egypt, through Greece, and into what is referred to modern times as the middle east, that alchemy went full on balls to the wall science and eventually turned into chemistry. Heck, the word alchemy comes from the Arabic word الكیمیاء . A huge reason the western world even knows that Alchemy is a thing is due to texts being translated from Arabic into Latin. Now let's talk about Alchemy vs. Alkahestry. Alchemy as depicted in the show is based on Hexagrams(a six pointed star). This comes from the alchemical symbol for fire(an upward pointing triangle) and the symbol for water(a downward pointing triangle) being laid over one another. This forms what we would recognize in modern times as a Star of David. A star of David is a two dimensional representation of a Merkabah. Okay so what's that? TL;DR religion: The merkabah is a symbol in sacred geometry and basically means "Chariot of Fire" and was considered to be the moving throne of God. This fully represents Amestris' use of alchemy for war. There is even a modern day Israeli tank called "Merkava". So what about Alkahestry? They use it for medicine in Xing. You'll notice that it is based on pentagrams(seven pointed star). Well where do we see that in relation to medicine?! If you think on Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man drawing, the symbol is very close to a pentagram. You can also think about the seven chakras, ways of distributing energy across the body. This is getting way long so i won't talk about Gnosticism YET but oh lawd it's coming. Also if this makes it to the rundown, Suraj if you have your phone with you I'd love to see your reaction to looking up the other name of the Alchemist Paracelsus(I spoke of him before). I'll explain the relevance to Rana on a later rundown but it'd be a spoiler for her right now. I KNOW you'll get a kick out of it though haha.

#SundayRundown Bleach (Reposted from last week) Ichigo's final form has to be one of the coolest and most badass transformation's in manga/anime, also his final tecnique Mugetsu, translates to "Moonless sky". Also I love the scene with Urahara, him and Aizen are very similar, both studied Hollowfication, both created a Hogyoku and know the truth of the Soul King but while Aizen wanted to replace him and destroy the status quo, Urahara choose to maintain it at any means nessesary and from anyone, which makes him a very grey and facinating character. Also, in some aditional pages of the manga that were added later to the volumens, it is stated that Orihime heal certain characters and they survived the arc, not telling who to avoid spoilers but you should theorize who migth show up later.

BLEACH #SundayRundown (Reworking last weeks comment) There is a lot to say about Aizen and many others summed it up brilliantly. What I will is that as much as I loved Kyle Hebert's Aizen, his performance in this last act is unfortunately not as good as Show Hayami, particularly when he's getting sealed. I recommend you to watch that part at least with the subs, it is exceptional. The anger and frustration in his voice, especially towards Urahara, and the drive to still have the conviction as he's silenced. Pat was definitely drinking the kool-aid and I don't blame him. Aizen made us all question the existence of the Soul King too. Overall, this was a brilliant way for this arc to bow out and I enjoyed listening to your theories and predictions for the Thousand Year Blood War. Suffice to say, you guys have NO idea what you are in for. As you've started the Fullbring arc, I would recommend to watch the opening, dw there's no massive spoilers since many of those new characters are introduced in this reaction. I can't speak for everyone else but there's a sequence in the OP that got me really emotional, you'll know what I mean if you don't already. There's also a couple versions of the OP, so just something to keep your eye on. Speaking of the credits, in the previous filler arc, there's an ED to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Bleach, or rather 13 of them, focusing on different characters, the final one coupled Ichigo and Rukia, as you saw. Given your reaction to the increase in art quality, I should point out that when Bleach first released, it had the 4:3 aspect ratio, then transitioning towards widescreen, and now we see the transition towards HD. Time is indeed a flat circle, because next month, on October 5th, it is not only the 20th anniversary of the anime to the exact date, but it is when the 3rd season of the TYBW begins. You could say, it's all going according to plan. Lore note #1: You guys seemed a little confused about the hollow dog barking at Yammy before he died, his name is Kukkapuro. He woke up in Hueco Mundo as a Hollow, lost most of his memories, only recalling a large hand petting his head and calling his name. When he first met Yammy, he was reminded of his owner and followed him since, who reluctantly kept him around. He's also an arrancar, and was given the number 35. Lore note #2: None of that shit in the first episode you watched was canon aside from the last 3 minutes lmao. In the manga, Ichigo loses almost all of his powers while he was in that coma, wakes up in his house and they go outside to say their goodbyes. In the manga, that is canonically where the arrancar arc officially ends. You can tell what the anime staff wants. Not seen a more blatant attempt at shipping, gotta give em credit for the commitment.

FMAB #SundayRundown I'm double dipping today since nobody has mentioned it yet. As you may know, Travis Willingham(who also portrays that new character in Bleach 👀) and Laura Bailey voice Mustang and Lust respectively. There's a YouTube video where they both share their experience recording episode 19, which still makes me laugh to this day. If you haven't already seen it, I recommend it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtY5LnlxFEg

BLEACH #SUNDAYRUNDOWN (repost from last week) These episodes cover content found in Volume 48 of Bleach titled "God is Dead" which is very important here and later within the story Aizen is Übermensch, The Übermensch is a being who reaches their best self by not succumbing to religion or morality, a being who can affirm their own life, not seek purpose in what they have been told to do. The Übermensch can determine for themselves, their own value. Not falling into despair/ nihilism instead gaining strength and transcending. Aka being a God. Which is why here Aizen says, "The Victor must always speak not of the world as it is, but of how it should be". If something greater does not deem it so, then for what purpose do we exist? Figuratively he is a fallen angel cast out of heaven, who builds an army of demons in the underworld and invades heaven so that he become god. His final transformation also looked similar to William Blakes Great Red Dragon painting. He seeks to be a "God" and he seeks to escape Isolation. To be more concise in regards to his God Complex, he doesn't want or accept anyone or anything having governance over him which stems from his natural state of being better than everyone around him. This also leaves him with no equal, therefore no one understands him. These two goals form a conflict, Aizen wants someone on his level yet he is also aware that someone being on that level could force him into a state of governance which is why he got so frantic with Ichigo, someone who he purposely made his equal Aizen is a character whose natural state left him in a neverending Conflict, he has the will, ability and Ego to Govern the world yet those benefits stripped him of the chance to ever garner Understanding (Also why he was so upset with Urahara who he thought at least understood his mindset). In a way, his story is somewhat tragic, Someone who through natural Isolation seeks to make a world where they can be understood Kubo intentionally set up Aizen to NOT be relatable, backstory is an easy and common tool in literature to form a sense of understanding between the Viewers and the Characters but Aizen whole concept is that no one has or will understand him Also this next arc The Lost Agent is amazing, actually my 2nd favorite behind Thousand Year Blood War it's a more grounded and focused arc. Speaking of TYBW, like others have said you guys have no idea what awaits you absolute PEAK FICTION

#SundayRundown Bleach Repost from last week: I think it’s really interesting how the ones that defeated Aizen are: 1. Ichigo, someone Aizen considers his equal in strength and 2. Kisuke, someone Aizen considers his equal in intellect. This arc is very underrated due to shonen heads being upset it is slower paced than last arc, but to me it is AMAZING and one of my favorites. It does a lot for Ichigo as a character. Edit: Ichigo and Isshin (his dad) have not spoken about their powers. Don’t worry you haven’t missed anything just keep watching for now!

#SundayRundown #BLEACH #IchirukiSolidarity #Surajnotalone I watched episode 342 back when the series was on Crunchyroll, and in the comments section, the first comment was “Why didn’t he kiss her?! That was the perfect kiss Rukia moment! Now they'll never get the chance!” 😂 In every single “BLEACH” character popularity poll Shonen Jump has released since the manga began, Rukia and Ichigo have been in the top 3, and have frequently gone 1 and 2, trading off which position respectively. Naturally, with two main characters this beloved, shipping is going to occur. Specifically, however, it's more than that. Orihime is designed to be the perfect waifu for the young male audience, but just like Kishimoto, Kubo discovered that many of those males (and females) preferred to ship the protagonist with the less overtly waifu-centric lady who spends the most time with him, and develops an on-screen (on-page) bond that's stronger than most other relationships in the series. This is no disrespect to Orihime of course. Despite being a side-character, who does the typical stand-in-the-back-saying-the-protagonists-name-over-and-over (which was made worse in the anime but still happened in the manga) she's always been in the top 10 on those polls; though she only cracked the top 5 in the very first one.
I think ultimately, the reason the ship is so popular is because, while it's good to show men and women having platonic relationships, if you're GOING to have romance, especially in an action series, many of us would prefer that romance develop between 2 close friends who are partners in crime, fighting alongside eachother, constantly building each other up, rather than one character pining from the sidelines while the other doesn't notice. As to Ichigo and Rukia being "siblings" (Rana), I'll just say look back on all the banter between Rukia and Renji, and notice how similar it is to the banter between Rukia and Ichigo, then remember how the series constantly points out how similar Ichigo and Renji are. Not to mention Kaien (the man Rukia had a crush on who resembles Ichigo) teasing her in a similar way that Ichigo does. Just sayin', you can easily make it work. Anyway, I was waiting to post under this episode specifically, not to invalidate Ichihime fans, but simply to validate Ichiruki fans, because I've seen a narrative that says the anime forced Ichiruki into existence. Not so. That ship had been sailing merrily along since the manga began. The animation team were some of the many folks already on that manga ship, and thus, fed us a bit in the anime. 🥞

Damn is bleach in sub yet🤣🤣

I would agree but so does someone else in this show they even eat they siblings but they don’t get nearly as much hate as gluttony I see most reactors just being surprised by them at least from the reactions I’ve seen by other reactor’s besides funnylilgal reacts she actually sees that he’s essentially a 7 year old after all he was written as the youngest of all the siblings except for Bradly of course

#SundayRundown - We're near the end of the og series and you guys still think Rukia has a Bankai lmfaoooo. Only the Captains (or former Captains in the Visored's case, so Shinji, Kensei, Love and Rose) have Bankai (except Kenpachi). The only non Captains that have a Bankai are Renji and Ikkaku. That's it. And Ichigo i guess, but not right now lol. Also, maybe light spoilers for the filler arc you skipped (but i don't think you care? If you do, don't read past this), but for some reason they decided to animated the ever living fuck out of one of Ichigo's Getsuga Tensho attacks, so this filler arc randomly has one of, it not the best, Getsuga Tensho in the series. I've linked it below if you're interested (it's like 30 secs) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5synmZupIok

It's because they decided to animate the ever living fuck out of that entire arc, which is why it's such a treat to watch! They said they're going to check it out. Don't know when.

Shockzz1234
>>149859738

True, the arc as a whole was superbly animated. I remember some fights in particular were just *mwah* chef’s kiss. But that Getsuga was the standout moment for me haha. Speaking of really well animated, the Fullbring Arc was super well animated as well. They clearly knew from the filler arc that they’d be ending with the Fullbring imo, that’s why they went all out for both - might as well end with a bang!

Fullmetal Alchemist crew needs some help dude lol is Navi or Chris or Suraj or market gonna guest star at least once to help them ... actually nvm market...baby things ppl! 😉 #whosMicky
