Blocked, thanks NBC Universal

dom

immediate blockage lol

Reagan N. S.

Well that was fast. I was so excited haha!!

Xanbry

NBC No Backbone Company strikes again

The Normies

Working on the edited version. Uncut should be available!

David Campbell

I think musicals are tough in general to get past copyright blockers. The best part are the songs and the YouTube algorithm is good at finding copyrighted music.

Kelsey Roberts

Man, you guys did NOT talk through her entire first solo. What the fuck is that?

Kelsey Roberts

And Jonathan Bailey's Dancing Through Life? Can y'all not focus on the narrative? What is your deal? You're missing some of the most difficult work that they're doing to bicker about Bridgerton and argue plotlines they will GO OVER. Normies watching musicals is not the vibe.

HybridThizzle

If you guys do any musicals again in the future, you should maximize attention during the musical numbers. Rough start hopefully it gets better throughout the video.

Kelsey Roberts
>>161002198

Dancing Through Life is terrible. They spend ages bitching about the books instead of listening to the lyrics or talking about anything else. They also think Galinda is the only one to use Ozisms.

Kelsey Roberts

You guys literally talked through BOTH of Cynthia Erivio's solos. You guys suck.

Kelsey Roberts

Kristin Chenoweth is NOT a country star. She's the original Glinda. I honestly recommend the channel avoid musicals in the future, because you talk through the songs which are the most important bit of the story. I understand that copyright is something difficult, but there are better channels that have more talent at toeing the line of commentary and appreciation.

Kelsey Roberts
>>161006168

And that's fucked up. They are adults. They can at least comment about the movie instead of talking about Bridgerton and Harry Potter and random shit. It's ridiculous. They need Ritalin.

Kellie Rice
>>161006168

Not really it’s a reaction channel but the comments about Harry Potter are them drawing similarities and Bridgeton because of Jonathan Bailey but I get that bothers some people

Kelsey Roberts
>>161006168

It bothers me when they aren't actually paying attention because they feel the need to open their mouths during the most important parts of the movie.

Kelsey Roberts
>>161006168

I'm writing a dissertation about the fine line that reaction channels walk when they post content. They didn't succeed on this reaction. I know Reel Time, Channel Name Pending, Movie Knights and like 4 other channels that were able to make it past copyright without being so annoying to the audience.

Kelsey Roberts

Aaand a Red Bull joke when an animal is shown suffering on-screen? Yep, definitely asking for a bank pushback.

Sonicluis

I swear this guys really are normies. How have they ruin ever hit movie that has come out. I wish I could take back the time I wasted on this reaction.

Smash Bran'Discootch
>>161006559

Then leave or quit bitching. Seriously, nobody cares for your entitled bullshit. Not enjoying a reaction is not grounds for a refund. You got what you payed for. Grow up.

Kelsey Roberts
>>161006559

Then I'll just call my bank and have it pulled back as fraudulent. I didn't pay to watch them talk about Harry Potter the entire time.

Jay R.
>>161008643

OMFGGGG KELSEYYY!!!! I’m trying to find ONE comment that isn’t you bitching about this content YOU paid for. you make up HALF this comment section and it looks crazy. If you don’t like it unsubscribe and get your money back but shuuuuutttt upppppp. Respectfully.

Corey

I've never seen people get so irrationally angry in these comments at watching a reaction channel react to a movie because they talked to much.

Kelsey Roberts
>>161008643

I'm trying to warn the other Wicked fans. They should save their money and time. Not sorry about it. Edit: Also, calling me crazy is funny when we're literally watching a movie about a woman being told to shut up and sit down. Ironic much?

Kelsey Roberts
>>161009897

Yea, because they talked during the music. It's a pretty simple issue that other channels have avoided. I'd pretty much recommend them not post this to YouTube. True Wicked fans are worse than me. I haven't even seen it on Broadway like they have.

Corey
>>161009897

Im a Wicked fan and I do not act like this at all. Also I thought you said you were refunding your membership

Kelsey Roberts
>>161006559

We're also literally watching a movie about a woman fighting for her "entitled bullshit" so I find this irony compelling. Please tell me more about your straight-male perspective.

Corey
>>161009897

I just feel this is an unhealthy amount of venting on a movie reaction and I think there is better outlets for you. I'm happy you are taking the right steps and moving on from this channel. All the best!

Kim

Holy cow, I just watched the uncut and I need you guys to forget everything Rana told you, she is the wrongest wrongster I have ever heard. Literally every word out of her mouth. 😅 Kristen Chenoweth being a country singer, my God.

James Pierce

Awwww the YouTube reaction got blocked!

Rey
>>161009897

Ive seen it but its usually for superhero stuff lol apparently the musical crowd is just as rampant

David Butt

This is one of the worst comment section I’ve ever seen over absolutely nothing. and it's literally one person spamming the comments. They're are complaining that a REACTION channel are talking during the movies and songs which they absolutely have to do. I get that people want to hear the songs, but they have to talk over them because again it’s a reaction channel. It’s like this person doesn't actually want a reaction, but a way to see the songs without paying for them. If it bothers you so much then listen to the soundtrack once the songs start, and mute the reaction. This isn't a way for people to watch the movie and listen to the songs for free, it's about seeing them react to the movie which they do and they really seemed to enjoy the movie.

David Butt
>>161006559

You don't seem to understand the point of a reaction channel. The point of a reaction channel isn't to watch a movie for free, with random people in the background. The point is to see people react to a movie, which naturally includes talking during the film. It's not like they're not paying attention to the movie, they're clearly paying attention to what's going on and talking about it which is the entire point of a reaction channel. It's not false advertising, they're literally doing their jobs.

VeryNeru

How does one mute this "Kelsey Roberts" ad

Charity Konusser (the chonus)
>>161012411

Not only is she wrong about literally everything she says, but she's so confident, assured, and forceful about it -- like she's giving out facts when NONE of what she says is right. I was making a game of seeing how many times she was wrong, but I had to give up counting as it got too depressing. She's a perfect example of why people think her generation is not just stupid, but stupid and PROUD of it. At least Navi has the excuse of not knowing the stories, but Rana says she's seen both The Wizard of Oz *and* Wicked, and she's STILL wrong about all of it (SNOW WHITE? what the actual fuck). She's like this in all the Battlestar Galactica reactions, too, and it's so bad it's embarrassing.

Stefan

the sister wanted independance and her sister being here taking all attension... i feel for her she thought she would be independant not sheltered for the first time

Kelsey Roberts
>>161012411

That part honestly made me fucking laugh out loud. The rest of the phrase “and your little dog, too” should’ve made it pretty obvious.

Paradoxhamartia
>>161020153

The absolute irony of you wanting to use people for your own research, while you yourself seem to be the most interesting one to dissect and understand. How does someone even end up being like this? You're probably the one closer to the answer, but it's buried too deep for you to see. Or maybe you just don't want to look at it? Anyway... take care, Kelsey! Hopefully you'll end up in a better place, mentally speaking.

Camille Watrigant

Them not knowing those two singers/atresses at the Emerald City are Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, who played the original Glinda and Elphaba from the Broadway show Wicked, kinda offends me. xD Appart from that, great reaction !

Paradoxhamartia
>>161020153

Not for a single second was I trying to shame you, or be patronizing. Not even remotely. I also go to therapy and take a whole bunch of psychotropics. If anything, that's exactly the reason why I'm concerned over how you're reacting to all of this. And since I noticed another one of your comments, lemme just say that I'm very much NOT a "straight white male" kind of guy. Just to get that idea out of the way. I do find the topic of your research to be fascinating, and I also do understand your frustration with their reaction style (to a degree). To give an example, they recently posted their reaction to one of my most beloved recent works of fiction. I was skeptical going into it, since I know that their style doesn't really go well with that kind of content, and I would've probably ended up being frustrated. I was considering skipping the reaction altogether. Ended up watching the video anyway, since I wanted to give them a chance. Turns out... I was very much right. It was very, EXTREMELY frustrating to sit through. Felt like the movie didn't get the level of attention it required to be fully understood, both in themes and message. But did I go ballistic over it? Nope. Simply rolled my eyes and closed the video. Because I didn't feel like they had necessarely done anything wrong. I also can't read their minds, so perhaps they did absorb the movie in the best way they could have, which could simply be different from mine. I understand that we pay to get their content (as patrons, anyway), but that doesn't mean that we can dictate how they should or should not react. This is THEIR reaction channel where people gather to watch THEIR reactions. They've being acting like they do for many, many years. We should all know what we've signed for, by now. If it really does bother you that much, why not simply remove yourself from this scenario? It's fine to voice your opinion (respectfully) but it comes a certain point when you just have to drop it and move on, imho. You're flooding this post with many, MANY comments that are simply slightly different shades of disappointment. I don't get why anyone would do this to themselves. I'm sure you've got better things to do (I mean this unironically). Also, a humble suggestion. I would stop dividing people into "scholars" and "non-scholars" categories. Trust me when I say... the only thing it does is making you sound like the actual close minded one. People can and will have valuable ideas and opinions to share about various topics, regardless of their personal school background. Best regards.

jose giron

Comments sec turned cancerous due to a single person 😅😅

Cassidy
>>161008643

Why don’t you let everyone make their own minds up, clearly not everyone is as bothered as you. You can share your opinion without trying to impose it on everyone in the comment section

Kim

This was...not a good reaction. 🫤 Sorry normies, you guys missed too many references, laughed at too many inappropriate moments, talked over too many big revaluations... Usually I have a high tolerance for this stuff from y'all, but this one hurt.

Cassidy
>>161008643

You’re blaming everyone else for your incessant commenting, yes some people called you names and that’s not okay. But Kelsey, please take a deep breath, realize you don’t have to engage, and it will be better for your mental health if you don’t

Patrick
>>161018137

Kelsey, you may not be the only one unimpressed with the reaction, but you're the only one repeatedly commenting/replying to every single reply on this post. If you don't like it, move on.

The Normies

Edited reaction is still being worked on due to copyright reasons! Thank you for your patience.

Chris K.

God this comment section is so funny now I have to watch their reaction 😭 the theater kids ranting, the Normies STILL editing 😭

Charity Konusser (the chonus)
>>161006559

I'm not sure if you're aware, but people are allowed to complain in the comments section all they want. There aren't any rules against it. BTW, telling someone to grow up when you don't know what the word "entitled" means and you can't spell "paid"... is a choice.

Charity Konusser (the chonus)
>>161006168

It's not that they were talking about Bridgerton and Harry Potter - of course people are going to mention Bridgerton when Jonathan Bailey appears, and will make a comparison to Harry Potter with magic and flying brooms. It's that they wouldn't *shut up* about Bridgerton or Harry Potter throughout the whole fucking movie. And I do know how a reaction channel works -- they're supposed to react to what they're watching, and not go off on minutes-long tangents about other entertainment, talking over plot points and songs all the while.

Shockzz1234

"Wow that's a big likes to comment ratio, i wonder what's going on he- OH MY GOD!!"

The Normies
>>160999205

It's tough to choose the moments of when to talk. If we don't talk through her solo and we leave it in the reaction, it gets dinged for copyright because YouTube is very good at picking up music content. So when we do music videos or musicals, we try to help the copyright by blabbing our dumb mouths over the stuff that we watch when we hang out as friends. We absorb as much as we can, learn the things we missed after-the-fact if it happens, and we have a lot of fun doing it. I'm sorry this reaction didn't turn out the way you wanted it. We will examine what went wrong here and make sure to approach musical reactions differently in the future.

The Normies
>>161004794

If we didn't talk through that solo, we may not have been able to include it in the edited YouTube reaction video. Uninterrupted music, especially from a movie as big as this one, is a hot spot for getting flagged for copyright. Our editor is still trying to get the video through copyright blocks. We didn't do a good job paying attention during the musical scenes and will do better during the next musical. To give an explanation: We are too wired/used to flap our gums when there is copyrighted music playing. Even in any random scene in a show where they play a hit song, we turn the volume down on the TV and start blabbing because we know it will help the editor. It is not intended to disrespect the actresses/singers and I believe none of us are coming off that way.

The Normies
>>161006168

YouTube copyright is not consistent across channels when it comes to being flagged for copyright. We have never had an issue with shows like Dragon Ball when that has been a HOT flagged show for Blind Wave. We have a hard time monetizing videos from Warner Bros. but AKASAN is able to do it easier than us. The YouTube world is wild and every channel/predicament is different. You are entitled to your opinion but I gotta give you the facts first here since you're firing off about dissertations and what not. No single method works the same across any content creator when it comes to copyright bs on YouTube.

Chaos T

This is the second The Normies post in a row where someone in the comment section doesn't understand The Normies are a reaction channel. Their job is to react to things they're watching. I know... shocking revelation. Thankfully most people aren't on the Twilight level of media literacy and it's just the vocal minority.

Chaos T
>>161020153

We've fallen a long way when writing a dissertation on how reaction channels become successful is considered a legitimate academic achievement. University studies used to be far more important to society but now anyone can write a dissertation on something frivalous and call themselves a "PhD". The subject matter for your dissertation is essentially a high school essay. That's a joke on many levels. Your college work has no real value to it regardless of you believing it so.

Kelsey Roberts
>>161004794

Is it worth putting in the edit when people will clock that you’re not giving the song its due?

The Normies

Edited version should be up....hopefully it stays that way.

Sickleweed

Hey Normies, just wanted to say, I like the way you guys react just fine because you always succeed in entertaining me and making me laugh. Life is hard and the world is shit, but for me, you guys make it less hard and less shit, so please keep up the good work and I hope all of you have a wonderful day every day.

Chaos T
>>161057796

Of course you take stating the obvious as an insult. The consistent victim mentality makes anything anyone voices in opposition to you as an "insult". Your entertainment choices aren't just entertainment. They're your personality.

The Book Mouse
>>161006168

I have one question. Why do you think that they each need to take Ritalin, a prescription drug for the treatment of ADHD and narcolepsy simply because of the fact that they referenced other shows and films during the movie?

Kendall DeSouza

At this point I don't even need the YT reaction these comments are more entertaining than the movie (i tease)

Smash Bran'Discootch

Holy shit. Hey normies, just wanna say you guys are awesome. And I think I just found the world's most toxic Fandom.

Doc Anime!

Wow somebody obviously has a boring life and had nothing else to do yesterday lol

Katharina

Looks like I missed a lot yesterday... For what it's worth I really enjoyed your reaction, all of you seemed to have a lot of fun while watching! As a musical fan myself I understand you can't just let the songs play without talking over it, hopefully you will check out the soundtrack if you any of you are interested in the music

Kendall DeSouza
>>161009897

i do get it though, like yes of course how are reactors not going to talk during a reaction but at the same time if they miss the things theyre supposed to be reacting to because they were talking kinda defeats the purpose. I can enjoy an empire strikes back reaction even if there's talking but if the reactors miss that the "i am your father reveal' and spend the post discussion speculating vader's identity i cant say it was a good reaction

Cliff Douglas

Damn. I am not even a fan of Wicked but these comments got me tempted to check out just how bad Suraj was this reaction. 🤣 The Chaos Lord apparently struck again. 😂😆😃😆

BradBoimler

I personally don't like musicals I only remember seeing a few as a kid because my parents dragged me to them the ones I remember seeing where Phantom of the opera, Miss Saigon, and that's it

Johnny Blue

Super fun movie, loved your commentary and jokes throughout. Spidey and Navi being completely blind watchers added different perspective to this. Rana wins the confidently incorrect award this time. lol

Manny D.

Saying this as a far left, queer woman: if a reaction to the movie for Wicked triggers you so badly that you need to barrage a comment section with nonsense, then that is your sign to turn off the internet and touch grass. Not just Kelsey but literally anyone. It’s fine if you were unhappy with how they reacted. That’s an opinion and you’re entitled. You leave your opinion and let them know, and if you’re really unhappy, you cancel your Patreon sub. It’s not deep enough the have a hissy fit in the comments. It’s just not. This was too much. One comment with criticism was sufficient.

Jay R.
>>161008643

Being a Queer black woman in Theatre myself…yes. I do find it ironic I have to tell a bully to sit down and shut up over a musical about overcoming bullies and people who think they know everything.

Charity Konusser (the chonus)
>>161020153

This is absolutely not true. Reaction channels are a modern parasocial phenomenon and I know several people who have to academic papers on them. Maybe you don't understand what "legitimate academic achievement" means, or you think only math matters or something.

Charity Konusser (the chonus)
>>161008643

Point to where she blamed someone else for her comments. Not "someone called you a name and you replied to it," but an actual example of her blaming another person for the comments about the video that she's made.

Cassidy
>>161106572

Most likely because Kelsey kept accusing people disagreeing with her of being straight males

Peng

Lol at Navi coming this close to shushing the two more theater-kid couch members so she can hear Defying Gravity unfold better.

Charlotte Velasco

These comments are insane lmfao. Love this reaction and your videos in general because it genuinely feels like sharing media you love with friends. Kudos to all your hard work

Chaos T
>>161106572

@Cliff Douglas what Cassidy said is right. The poster in question specifically made sexuality as a primary critique. Manny D is just responding to the nonsense using the context the person in question provided. Including one's sexuality in response to the person in question is 100% valid because said individual made it so in their primary argumentation.

Chaos T
>>161020153

"Please tell me about what kind of published research or accreditations you’ve received for anything in your life." The research I've done in my life's work has contributed to many civilian and government court cases. I've liaised with hundreds of law offices in my work as well as hundreds of offices from the House of Representatives and the Senate of the United States. My life's work has legitimately contributed to helping tens of thousands of people on a fundamental level as well as set some legal precedent within the country I reside in. What have you done in your life other than complain to people you don't know on social media that reactors are reacting to things?

Cassidy
>>161008643

@Charity she said she keeps commenting because people are replying to her, but she spammed before that. Also, she liked my comment, so I don’t think she was nearly as offended by it as you.

HybridThizzle
>>161106572

You're seeing it as a barrage but we are literally just individual people dropping our opinion. Pretty sure only one person left a barrage.

Chaos T
>>161020153

"Also, I’m gonna quote you directly. It’ll be fun in print." You're including spiteful child-like behavior in an academic paper submitted to people determining your future? Interesting approach.....

HybridThizzle
>>161057796

While you're correct in some ways, musical reactions should be handled differently than other mediums. Take a page from other channels that react to musicals.

Chaos T
>>161020153

"Even when I wasn't going to use this as a research opportunity, when I didn't mention anything about my work or what it means or does." This statement here shows the amateurish nature of your "work". You have to at least give people some level of consent if you're doing something for research. If people here are going to be part of your research you HAVE to get consent for it to be published. You're going to see my lawyer if anything from here is published in your dissertation. I do not give you consent to use anything here for your research. This is basic shit you should know if you're seeking a PhD.

HybridThizzle
>>161020153

Guys it isn't that deep. The normies are known to talk too much, and that's fine, but they should be more considerate of the medium. Like how they handle music video reactions.

HybridThizzle
>>161018137

I get that you want to defend the normies, but they simply weren't considerate of the medium here. Like I said elsewhere, they should handle Musicals in the same way they do for music videos.

HybridThizzle
>>161006168

@The Normies - While your post isn't wrong, there's no way you're insinuated that you guys are going off on tangents as a calculated tactic to stifle any claims to copyright infringement. Y'all are a couch with manic extroverts, and that's okay, you don't have to pretend it's calculated for legal reasons lol.

HybridThizzle
>>161004794

Like I said elsewhere, y'all are a couch with manic extroverts, and that's okay, you don't have to pretend your tangents are calculated. Just please be more considerate of the medium next time.

HybridThizzle
>>160999205

I would handle them the same way you do music videos. Also, we don't have to constantly be hearing the music, we already know the songs. You can hide the music without ruining the experience for yourselves. If you have an issue with the fact your mics pick up the song, there are several methods you can use to isolate your voice overs. If you need any help in that regard, I'm a graduated audio engineer and my email is hybrid4@gmail.com! Would gladly help you get that sorted free of charge.

Chaos T
>>161020153

"Now that I’ve finally sucked your dick long enough, would you please leave me alone?" hahahaha aww the poor victim In doing research for your so called "dissertation", you show a lot of attached emotion including making an entertainment product your personality. You violated a lot of ethics in research including inserting yourself in your original statement asked. It's also a HUGE no-no if you don't tell people you're doing a research project and you make them part of your study in published work. That's basic shit you should know.

Chaos T
>>161020153

"And I also have an entire chapter dedicated to affect theory, and the defensive behavior of audiences when faced with the research of their favorite objects. This sort of response also happens when women research video games" Where did the google search touch you wrong? 😂

Kelsey Roberts

Ding-dong, the Witch is Dead. I’m sorry for making a mess and I accept the consequences. It was my fault.

KMun79

Entertaining reaction. Too bad you guys hadn't seen Wizard of Oz first.

Manny D.
>>161106572

Because Kelsey kept replying with "straight man" to people to counter their arguments. I wouldn't have but I felt like because of that, I had to clarify. Maybe read the comments for context next time. Edit: Didnt see the other replies at first. Yes what they said.

Smash Bran'Discootch
>>161106572

Yeah I'm just as gay as springtime and getting accused of having a "straight male perspective" was just hilarious 😂

Martin

I can't watch the reaction!

Mesh

Cynthia was in The Color Purple on Broadway and won an Emmy, Grammy and Tony for that broadway show. She's not in the movie.

Dana Sow

Damn, I upgraded just for this reaction and the reaction is down :(

Dana Sow

Hopefully it will be back up soon but my god what's with these comments?

Terald Freeman

Please watch scream one and scream two🙏🏾

Firefx

Haven’t seen a comment section like this since the Naruto days lmao

Dana Sow

So have they provided an update on this reaction?

The Normies

Wicked YouTube link is replaced! Hopefully no further copyright issues!!

Michael

Can you please do Beyoncé Homecoming on Netflix

Elle

Aaaaand immediately claimed again. Damn

Jimmy Wise

Suraj, not sure if you ever got a response elsewhere, but Ari's high note at the end of the first song was an E6
