Chaos T

I'm with Pat. I'd watch Lethal Weapon 6.

There’s something about the purposefully poorly made movie trope that is so funny in any tv show. Another great episode of Sunny. This season is sooo good. On the Sunday Rundown please look at the episode list of this season, assuming you have watched the finale. This episode is the weakest of the season because the rest of season 9 are gems

Tropic Thunder would be a great reaction! Definitely a better version of what they were going for here.

Yeah, these episodes did not deserve to be banned. The joke isn't just that the gang is racist. In the first Lethal Weapon episode, Dennis is the one calling out the others for not understanding blackface is racist, but then it's revealed that he sees no problem with a white man (him, really) playing a black character, using a "black" voice, so long as he's not in blackface. Which is, of course, bullshit. Both are racist and demeaning, one is just more explicit. My point is that there was a lot more going with the choices they made in these episodes. The decision to ban was not made thoughtfully, but because a lot of corporations at the time were sifting for any content on their platforms that could be even remotely objectionable or cause them any public blow back. It was banned in the name of covering asses and feigning social awareness. I acknowledge that there's an argument to be made that the intention to use racial stereotypes to underline their absurdity doesn't cancel out the actual use of those stereotypes. But, each case is different. Media is a huge piece of our cultural language, and it's harder to have a conversation, when challenging media is suppressed. I'll get off my soapbox now. Episode was funny, but Lethal Weapon 5 is still better.

as an actual black man, yes they did. black face is never acceptable in any context and shouldn't be tolerated for the sake of another race's comedic enjoyment
