The therapy scenes are direct at times because it's therapy. They're going for realism (at least within the confines of the premise) so the dialogue aren't going to be cryptic puzzles or anything. The sessions can help outline broad ideas and serve as stepping stones but they're not actually a summary of more underlying episode ideas and at times have had stuff said in the sessions be subverted or contradicted. Chase also had an interesting rule regarding most of the shots in the therapy where the camera rarely moves and generally remains static so it doesn't highlight any particular line. Some of the sessions will also just end abruptly to further reinforce some sense of randomness and lack of emphasis.

What is going on with these uncuts? Why can't we just sync from the beginning of the hbo logo? This week we have to try to sync up with a random frame from the end of the theme song? Who is making these and why do they think it's a good way to do things?

She said she "Saw the Godfather" in this episode, does that mean a reaction is coming for that?

“Down neck” is the nickname for the working class neighborhood in Newark where Tony grew up (so named because of the nearby curve or neck of the Passaic River); it may also refer to the significant way in which AJ and Tony shove various consumables down their throats (necks) over the course of the hour. - Sopranos Autopsy
