Sunday Rundown! Wow, what an episode. Pace is seriously picking up and we're approaching some of the best bits in the TYBW. First things first, that opening scene with Ichibei and Yuha was entirely anime original, the manga did not even touch on this material, it's canon, of course, but with information like the Soul King's arm and the lineage of Yuha, it is such an important scene in the grand scheme of things. It not only demonstrates Yuha's motivation but is also a brilliant set up for their eventual clash. Has Yuha learned to beat yet another powerhouse, or will the Manako Osho silence him again? This also isn't even mentioning the rest of the episode, with the bait and switch at the start(even though the fake Senjumaru still killed Nianzol LOL), and then Nimaiya, as per usual, steals the show. He is as entertaining as he is deadly and showcased that to perfection with his battle instincts and observational skills. He effortlessly destroyed the Quincies, but as we know with Bleach, the pull up game is strong and nobody is out of a battle. This might also be a good time to mention that before you guys started TYBW, I made a prediction in the discord server over who your new fave characters would be; Rana: Haschwalth(obviously) Suraj: Askin Nakk le Vaar Chris: Ichibei Pat: Nimaiya Navi: Senjumaru

#Sunday Rundown Bleach TYBW This Episode is brought to you the namesake of this part: The Separation So regarding what Navi said, Aizen is actually the Lucifer of anime in Bleach, while Yhwach is more so Hitler with the powers of Jesus. almost like an Anti-christ. Those first few mins before jumping back to the present is completely anime original and gave us something that we didn’t get till the end of the manga: Yhwach’s Motive of unifying all the worlds of existence, Life & Death and ending this current world of “deceit” or rather The (S)Xeparation of Reality. What was shown was an ancient past diplomatic meeting between the Quincy King and The Progenitor Soul Reaper Monk Who Calls the Real Name gone wrong. The fact that we got it now along with his signature ability (which shall be named and revealed in the finale) that was taken from him shows that they truly care about fleshing out the source material as much as possible when we’re only about to be halfway through this anime arc, making this one of the best anime adaptations. And now, We finally get to see Squad Zero in action. Oetsu’s Blade Sayafushi translates to “Sheath Dodger” and how ironic that the designated “W” Stern Ritter took an immediate L. Also Ichibe really said “KEEP MY NAME OUT YOUR F’ING MOUTH!” Another thing is Yhwach’s Royal Gaurds is actually based off of the same name of Adolf Hitler’s elite guard of the Nazi regime (The Schutzstaffel) This was actually their first appearance in the manga, but in the anime they were seen before in Ep 14 at the beginning of the part, alongside when were Uyru was named as Yhwach’s successor. They’ve been having to sacrifice a lot of fan service comedic gag fluff in the manga and streamline/condense a lot of the dialogue for the sake of the overall tone and appropriate pace for a war to end all of the consecutive back to back action throughout this 2nd invasion of the arc, they know exactly what they’re doing but unfortunately many people are quick to jump to conclusions looking at it from an episodic basis instead of looking at the bigger picture, as if the pacing is out of whack or sacrificing the comedic tone takes away from “the heart of Bleach” while that was certainly a part of OG Bleach, it’s always had this darker and spiritual tone “Less is More, Poetry in Motion”, that’s the true essence of BLEACH.

Bleach TYBW Episode 24- Too Early To Win, To Late To Know Keyword Page 1: Licht Reich (“Light Empire”) “This ‘Empire of Light’ is more than a thousand years ago, the Empire was inhabited by the Quincies, who were considered to be degenerate warriors specialising in anti-hollow warfare. Yhwach, who also possessed a power different from the manifestation of the Quincy bow, conquered and united Quincies under the ‘Empire of Light’. Many of the Quincies' people had friends and relatives killed by the Hollows, and they confronted the hollows with the desire to enact vengeance, but by completely destroying hollows they also upset the balance of the three worlds. Yhwach, who considered Shinigami as a threat to the Quincies, invaded the Soul Society, but was defeated by the 13 Court Guard Squads led by Shigekuni Genryūsai Yamamoto.” Episode 24 Keyword Page 2: The Schutzstaffel (“Protective Squadron”) “This Protective Squadron’ which consists of Lille Barro, a Quincy who is said to have been the first person to be given the Schrift by Yhwach. Gerard Valkyrie and Pernida Parnkgjas, Quincies who already possessed the power before a Schrift was given to them by Yhwach. Their powers do not originate from him. And Askin Nakk Le Varr, the only one who got promoted to the position from the 2nd invasion of the Soul Society. This elite unit under the direct control of Yhwach, consisting of the above four, is the SS (Schutzstaffel), and their power is immeasurable.”

#Sunday Rundown Yhwach’s Royal Guards are known as the Shutzstaffel which is a reference to Adolf Hitler’s elite guard of the Nazi Regime going by the same name. In the manga, THIS was their first appearance but in the anime they were seen on stage when Uryu was named successor like when Chris noticed one looked like Thor. The only exception was Askin who was recently promoted from the lower Sternritter and was among the “chosen” to go above with His Majesty as he stated before.

#SundayRundown Bleach When this episode came out us manga readers and big Bleach content creators were losing our minds due to this flashback which is anime exclusive. It fixed a bunch of plot holes and helped to explain character motivations. At this point you may have already began cour 3 but here are the main takeaways from this scene and information you must remember and understand: 1. This flashback takes place just before Yhwach invaded the soul society 1000 years ago 2. It is stated that the worlds were once one and the Soul King separated them, creating the current reality 3. When Quincy die, they return to Yhwach and he obtains their power, memories and he can “feel” what they were feeling at the moment of their dead 4. Yhwach possess eyes with multiple pupils and claims to “see it all” 5. Ichibei had the left arm of the Soul king and “trade it” with Yhwach in exchange for his eyes, so he can never open them again until the moment of his death 6. Yhwach is stated to be the son of the soul king 7. When Yhwach fought Yamamoto 1000 years ago he did not possess his eyes Also this hole section of the story was completely restructured, with new content and fixing what many considered the worst part in the hole manga. I can’t wait to see your reactions to the end of this cour.

i HOPE THIS GETS ON SUNDAY RUNDOWN JUST TO PROVE THE POINT OF THE FULLBRING ARC. When Yhwach's Royal Guards appeared, they were seen to arise from the GOAT symbol, aka Anti-Christ. This adds more depth to the already existing religious symbolism, helping us guess who and what they are. Ichibe actually allured to something that you guys misinterpreted. He said, "Do you think I'll let you have the Soul King's arm for free?" as he took away Yhwach's eyes. So he does not have the Soul King's arm anymore, as he gave it up to take away Yhwach's eyes. Plus the medallion Yhwach threw to get out of the cage was the one that held Yamamoto's Bankai. You're missing the point of the Fullbring arc. You can't skip it at any cost. The episode Blade is Me entails how Ichigo attained enlightenment through self-actualisation. Without us seeing the process of him returning to the "true way" of enlightenment, his self-actualisation would have lost meaning. That's why Ichigo attained "fake enlightenment" when he beat Aizen by using the Final Getsugatensho. Even if there was self-realisation at that point, he did not have any clue about his roots. The Fullbring arc is therefore the process of him going through stages of grief of losing his power and the despair it produced. There are a lot of themes at play here. You have to look deeper into it. Corrections: Uryu has the same letter as Yhwach, which is A and not B.

Gremmy Thoumeaux

#Sunday Rundown I’m in Cancun but had time to watch the episode. The real life Shutzstaffel which is what Yhwach’s Royal Guard was named after was led by Heinrich Himmler who Quilge Opie’s design is modeled after. He was infamously known for being the principal enforcer of the Nazi racial policies which made him responsible for operating concentration and extermination camps during the Holocaust. Even though Quilge wasn’t a Shutzstaffel in Bleach, he was stated to be an instructor for the Sternritters as you might remember. Another possible reference which I can’t imagine being a coincidence is his schrift. He was J- THE JAIL. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinrich_Himmler

Meh

I see you Suraj, with the Lil Dickey reference XD Small note. In sub Nimaya calls his sword Sayafushi Saya = Sheath/Scabard Fushi = Not a term I know specific in the negative, I think it deals more with sealing so the implication becomes more that the concept of the sheath itself being sealed or it has an elaborate seal in it's place rather than it just doesn't have one at all. I could be off there

Christopher Cervantes

#Sunday Rundown the couch should definitely rewatch what aizen tells kisuke about the soul king when he is being sealed. It truly makes aizen seem more right about his view on the soul society. Also rewatch Byakuya vs the 7th espada because it is definitely worth a rewatch to hear what he tells byakuya about the soul reapers and the order of things. Great nuggets dropped in these two scenes.

Hype! Hype! Hype! Get ready for some of the craziest episodes of bleach you'll ever see. And that's something you can say about pretty much every coming episode at this point too.

😆 you guys are complaining about the Fullbring arc guess you should have watched the zanpakuto rebellion arc yes it was filler but its the best filler and you guys for sure would have loved it.

VanguardDuelist

Don’t worry about the Fullbring Arc. It will come into play again. That said, the arc was important for getting Ichigo’s powers back and for Ichigo’s development as a character as well as the development of his relationship with Soul society

AzorAhai

You guys should watch the last 2 episodes at the same time to end this season, Season 3 is so epic cant wait for you guys to react to it lol, literally every episode is hyped AF

One point you guys are missing out is: The whole reason Aizen wanted to "become a god" and invade the Royal Castle was because he discovered "what is the soul king" and couldn't deal with that. Everyone in the Soul Society just assume there is a King rulling all over and they move on, mantaining the status quo of their society, but none of them never saw even once the king or the people of the royal palace... The only one that knows the truth other then Aizen is Urahara. PS: Yes, Fullbring Arc is a filler arc BS that people keep saying its important, its not.

This war has been going on for 2 seasons now, and we're only now getting some idea of what the true motivations are for each side. Bleach gets hate for it, but this is what major conflicts are like for people living through them. Real life isn't Naruto, and Yhwach isn't going to stop his assault to explain his whole backstory and have a long chat about the philosophical nature of war like Nagato did. In a war, when you and your loved ones are in danger, there isn't time for any of that. It's why narratives like "they just hate us" take over so often. Even here, almost every character, both Soul Reapers and Quincies, claims the same narrative and assumes the conflict all stems from ancient hatred over the war 1000 years ago. When you look back though, none of them actually know what they're fighting for because none of them are privy to the inner workings of either side. They're all assuming that their truth is THE truth and that their goals naturally align with the tribe they identify with. The only people who express some scepticism over the real motivations of both Yhwach and Ichibe are Shunsui and Nakk le Vaar. So many mangaka try to make nuanced and grounded points about the realities of war, but the only other anime/manga I've seen actually pull this off have been AOT, Berserk and maybe FMAB. It's incredible storytelling and Kubo doesn't get nearly enough credit for it.

Step B.

You’re allowed to be incorrect I suppose. Both by definition and opinion somehow lol

Step B.

#SundayRundown - Now that you’ve seen everyone on Squad Zero do something you can now learn what they contributed to the Soul Society to get them appointed. Hopefully not too long Ichibei Hyosube (bald monk) - knows the true name and has named every phenomenon that exists basically. He’s at least 100x older than Yama to put into perspective how old he is Oetsu Nimaiya (you know him well) - created the Zanpakuto Tenjiro Kirinji (pompadour) - created “Kaido” which is the healing arts taught to shinigami in the academy. Different from “Kido” which is defensive and offensive arts Kirio Hikifune (Gordon Ramsey) - created the “Gikon” or artificial souls like Kon. The concept of injecting foreign reiatsu into another body like she did with her food for Ichigo and the rest. She’s the newest appointed member having gotten promoted 112ish years ago before getting her captains seat filled by Urahara Lastly now that she’s gotten screen time Senjumaru Shutara - she created the “Shihakusho” which is the black and white clothing that every single shinigami wears. Fun fact she and Mayuri were apart of a group of scientists wayyyy long ago which is why they seem to know each other so well and why Mayuri was locked away in the Maggots Nest when Urahara came to him in the Turn Back the Pendulum flashback

Cody Peevy

It’s not even remotely filler and becomes more important later on

Kelz

Zanpakuto filler was good but Reigai arc was better imo

Raz

Ichigo does have fullbring powers atm. It's the reason he hasn't been pulling out the mask ever since he got fullbring powers. You can see it in Ichigo's previous bankai design, the white crosses around his shihakushou are supposed to be made of the same material as the mask. Even in his new design, the his shoulderpad seems to be made of bone-like material, which is supposed to be a hint at him using hollow powers. Also, when he first arrived in the Soul Society after the first invasion of the quincies, for a second he used sonido instead of flash step, which is an ability only hollows can use. Arguably, he might even have hollow Hiero, which could be enhancing his Blut Venne. I personally don't buy that Blut Venne alone saved him against Yuhwa's stab to the neck back in the first invasion. He's now constantly in "hollow" form let's say.

Kai-lo

#SundayRundown Since y’all just found out in the latest Bleach: TYBW episode that Yhwach (or “Yuhaba”) is the son of the Soul King, here’s some deeper lore for context: Yhwach’s name is actually based on the Tetragrammaton—the four Hebrew letters (YHWH) that represent the name of God, Yahweh. Kubo likely tweaked the name to avoid using the literal biblical version, but the inspiration is very intentional. The Soul King is essentially the god of the Bleach universe—the one who created the three worlds. So Yhwach being his son? That puts him in the role of a Jesus-type figure… if Jesus went full villain. Which means Ichigo’s final fight is basically a battle with the Son of God. Kinda crazy when you think about it. And if you didn’t already notice—there are more biblical themes tied to the Quincies themselves. The halos, wings, crosses—it’s not just a design choice. It reflects themes of divinity, judgment, and celestial order. You’ll definitely see more of that symbolism as the story unfolds.

Shockzz1234

90% of this comment is good information and you ruined it at the end smh.

Shockzz1234

Your guy's talk about life and death and the Original World kinda reminds me of the Good Place. Not an exact 1 to 1 of course, but (spoilers for the Good Place) at the end of the series when they reach the Good Place they find out it's full of people who have become mindless drones and that living in complete peace forever eventually takes its toll. Their solution is to have the door that you can go through once you feel satisfied with your life in the Good Place - giving the people of the Good Place something to "move towards" or just letting them know there was an ending etc motivated them again. And it's kinda the same as here - bearing in mind we don't know what the Original World was like, but assuming it's a world without death and full of "peace" - is that really a good idea? Or do humans kinda need things like death to keep them motivated in life and make every day feel worth living? Are you really living if there is no death, no end? Curious.

Shockzz1234

Tbh i've always had a theory that Quilge was a member of Yhwach's Shutzstaffel - it's why he left him behind SOLO to rule Hueco Mundo while literally everyone else invaded Soul Society, and why he trusted him to either defeat or stall Ichigo when he arrived by himself. And then he was replaced by Askin. Maybe he was a bit too weak though lol.

Renato Hiro

You really should watch Nimaiya japanese dub, it's amazing

Nabeshin

#SundayRundown #BLEACH You guys might already be at the episode where you realize the Fullbringer stuff WAS important, but just remember what you've been told before. The anime version of this arc has made movie and even FILLER stuff canon. Don't count any of it out. 😉

Zion Kim

PLEASE REACT TO BERSERK 1997

Zion Kim

They need to react to Berserk 1997 literally one of the best animes ever, and a dope ass dub.

Masked Void

[Tidbits][Lotta reading my bad] - This entire opening sequence between Yhwach and Ichibei is exclusive to the anime. We get some pretty important details, Ichibei seemingly is using the Left Hand of the Soul King and Yhwach can't use whatever his abilities are to see through the Soul King. Further, we now see how Yhwach abilities became "confined" (Basically Yhwach absorbs the left hand which in turn seals his Ability) - With the added scene we get additional context as to what Yhwach motives may be. He seems to be upset about how the three realms came about and he claims that his father, the soul king has been put through humiliation. He also speaks about how the Soul King made life and death and for it people live in fear. - Glad you guys payed attention to it cause many fans didn't take note of it. Yhwach not only receives knowledge and power from those who carry the Quincy Blood upon death, but he also receives their anger, fear, and suffering. This means that at the height of the Quincy empire, Yhwach was constantly experiencing those feelings. (You have to consider how such a way of life could impact the mind) - The Flashback scene takes place in the World of the Living, it's the Licht Reich which is the Quincies empire. Ichibei was their to negotiate, which is crazy to think because it seems that 0 Squad rarely leave the royal palace unless it's very important. - The lines "I can see it all" and "I'll show you" is a great expression of their seperate ideals Yhwach is someone who looks forward and seeks a new future, whereas Ichibei knowns and sees the worlds as it is and wishes to maintain the status quo - We see Uryu activate something, so it's proper to speculate what is it he did or is doing. - A scene is removed where Yhwach arrogantly ignores Senjumara and steps leisurely pass her, it was a cool scene that expresses Yhwach's defiance against the Soul Palace and everything they stand for. - When Yhwach escapes the Cage the camera seems to hone in on Uryu, many have speculated that it is Uryu's unknown ability that allowed for that to occur. The cage makes it impossible for things that have reishi to escape so whatever ability allowed him to get out must be quite strong. (This isn't how it occurred in the Manga) - Sidenote Some people thought Yhwach was being metaphorical when he says "my father" but given the fact that he has the same eyes as the Soul King, it can be assumed that Yhwach is in fact the son of the Soul King (But we don't have concrete proof of that). - Sidenote 2: If you pause the video when Yhwach summons his Royal Guards, you'll find an interesting depiction on the Shadow.

Marius Reini

#SundayRundown #Bleach So finally getting to the juicy bits of the lore and story. Yes Yuha is the Soul King's son. And to correct the cast he is not meant to represent Lucifer from the Bible. Yuha is basically Bleach's Jesus Christ except with the twist if Jesus decided to be evil and a conquerer. Since both are quite literally the son of God. You get further hints of this in the music album for cour 2 and the music that speaks of a savior and son of God, examples of some tracks are "One True Messiah" and "He'll die for our sins". You can see this in the angelic representation of the quincys and the Sternritter. The other obvious inspiration to the Wandenreich is of course Germany in the 1940's. So basically if you combined the ideas of Jesus and Adolf into one character you get Yuha. Also to note, listen to how Ichibe talks and responds to Yuha. He basically is intentionally withholding information and is giving half truths. What are his true intentions? Stay tuned, keep in mind that even Shunsui was skeptical about Ichibe also despite being on the same side. Bonus for this epsiode is also a fan theory that I am curious about what you think. So the four quincy's we see in the flashback with Yuha and Ichibe are his original Royal guard from 1000 years ago. Then in current time we see Gerard, Lille, Pernida and of course Askin Nakk Le Vaar. Askin was promoted to the royal guard as we see in the episode. However people have always wondered was there always 4 quincy royal guards or were there 3 and Yuha wanted to have an extra guard? Some people have theorised that there always 4 but one got killed earlier. Some people speculate that the missing member before Askin got promoted was Quilge "Sternritter J" who was in charge of Hueco Mundo in Cour 1. This makes sense since Yuha trusted him enough to take care of Hueco Mundo and Ichigo alone and also that he knew details about Uryu that the other Sternritter didn't, hell they didn't even know who he was. Your thoughts?

penguin299

Better yet, they need to read the manga at some point. Berserk 1997 would still be incredible.

Tcrimson05T

They were all tang before the three worlds.

Kamal Sandhu

I hope they listen to Senjumaru and Oetsus VAs in Japanese because they are just SO good. Especially Senjumaru

#BLEACH SUNDARUNDOWN Love Bleach and Kubo's utilization of subtle nuances within dialogue and other things. He isn't the type to spoon-feed. Kubo sprinkles things here and there. There won't be an explicit explanation right off top, he's subtle. This allows the watcher to make their own interpretation and connect the dots. That's why it may be difficult for you to predict things. The nuanced conflict between stagnation and evolution, the soul reapers and Quincies is a prime example of that, on one side the soul reapers are stagnating the world by using the soul king remember soul reapers are the balancers, on the other the Quincies seek to evolve it by removing him completely, which is creating a new world Bleach is great because of the originality as well. It brings cool things that no other manga/anime did especially in shounen genre, in which obviously lots shounen manga/anime couldn't deviate from repetitive, typical tropes bleach takes a different path and is always consistent Also I believe the artist for the backgrounds in TYBW is the same person or group that does it for AOT that's why it looks like AOT. There's an episode in Cour 3 that really reminds me of AOT Ps: By the way the Bleach x Marvel's Loki and Bleach x Star Wars Andor post I sent last week are not fanart they are actual collaborations which is why it's crazy to see. Kubo drew the Aizen photo and the Bleach and Andor was by the anime team I believe

gordon

Please don't drink the "fullbring arc is filler" koolaid lol, it's the dumbest idea spread by "fans" in this community. TYBW literally couldn't happen without it, especially the conclusion to Ichigo's character growth in The Blade is Me.

BXAA

I’m convinced people who call the fullbring arc “filler” and encourage others to skip it don’t actually care about the story. Bleach is the only long running series that isn’t allowed to have a intermediate arc that’s may have reduced stakes.😂😂

Kayso

Squad zero does not play lmao they legit make the captains look like child's play. Crazy how only one guy bodied those quincies and the rest of the squad stood back, imagine them working together. Next episode about to go crazy.

Arshes Nei

For real, I mean, huh, skipping the arc where Ichigo got his powers back and the characters who are coming back in the TYBW who have significant contributions in defeating Yuha, spoilers by the way. Then how would you know that in TYBW if you skip it? damn Im disappointed

Jordan Postle

Bleach really doesn't have much filler when it came to the introduction of 1000 year blood war. Even the Zanpakto spirit arc is canon.

Michael Guerrero

I’m trying to watch this, but you’re trying to say I’m a bot and it won’t let me sign in what is going on
