Chris: "At this point I figure God is just pissed at me and I don't know what I've done" ...should be the new tagline for these flicks...

Just noticing, is there a reason Chris is the only one with headphones lately

Wooo!!! I didn't think we'd get it this week but this is such a good surprise.

Welp, I know what I'm doing this afternoon. I got to see this with my 12-year-old nephew and my 14-year-old niece, and we had a blast just anticipating death traps and watching for clues! I liked Erik.

I was hoping for this yesterday but was happy we got your awesome Jaws reaction instead, so now I'm even happier that you still served this to us! Thanks Normies! Can't wait to watch/listen to this at work...you help me focus. 😊

This movie was so much fun. I thought it made the critically important choice to introduce hope to enhance the fear. My problem with 3 and 4 is that once the film starts you know they are all dead. Nothing to it. This means I personally don’t feel fear for any of them. I’m only here for the Rube Goldberg deaths. So any time not devoted to that is a waste to me as we’re just treading water. In 6, they spend time establishing ways to fight back and protect against Death. And they call back to killing or dying being the ways to survive death. This gave a win condition to the characters while fending off Death. So this push and pull between protagonists and antagonist helped to create engagement. You feel fear because the characters have the hope of survival and the film plays around with those expectations while also not making the characters unlikable like 3 and 4. I personally would also put it over 5 as well. Thought 6 was tighter and had more fun playing with the audience. Also it was fun seeing Tony Todd one last time 🥹🥲

The element of hope, that push and pull, created tension, I think all the way to the very end. Thought it was a good choice to add that!
