#Sunday rundown long time since i got to write one so i have some info for new caprica. with the show have a lot of influence from the war on terror era like Cain's treatment of 6 was based on the Abu Ghraib torture that the US did. and the show was from the perspective of the one who where attacked like America post 9/11 this arc is now from the perspective of the occupied taking influence from the resistance from Iraqi citizen and from the Second Intifada of Palestine. showing how they will do what it take to push back the occupiers to add Laura was a parallel to nelson Mandela when he was asked to codemmn the violence bombing the ANC where doing for an early release from prison. and here is his view for the need of non violence or violence durning his prison sentience "Nonviolent passive resistance is effective as long as your opposition adheres to the same rules as you do. But if peaceful protest is met with violence, its efficacy is at an end. For me, nonviolence was not a moral principle but a strategy; there is no moral goodness in using an ineffective weapon." also the death star was a military base so all the people there where valid targets

Woke up this morning and had 2 episodes of BSG to watch. Christmas came early. I am counting down the minutes until yall reach the greatest move in the history of sci-fi television. Just make sure Suraj has ear protection because if he's sitting next to Rana it's gg's for my dawgs hearing. 😁🤣

Gaius Frakking Baltar

Everyone's big mad at Gaius just because he did what Tricia Helfer told him to do. If the gorgeous Tricia Helfer told me to wear a tutu and stand in the middle of Times Square while singing the South Park theme song at the top of my lungs, then that's exactly what I'm gonna do. #BaltarDidNothingWrong

Ronald D Moore, creator of the show, has talked about how much he appreciated the Syfy channels lack of restrictions when it came to content on the show. Sure, they couldn't swear and had to find creative ways to use the word 'frak', but Syfy never censored the show when it came to the more important parts. Namely, this was a show that came on at the height of the war on terror and this episode showed the good guys as suicide bombers. Kudos to the network for allowing such a bold choice and to the writers for being willing to push the envelope at a really turbulent time in the country.

Season 3 double drop LFG!!!! I'm all in for a Saul redemption arc. He might have lost an eye, but his sight has never been more clear. Also I'm SO glad that the start of s3 and the cylon occupation has revitalized y'alls vigor and haste at throwing out secret Cylon agents again. He's a cylon! oh wait, he's doing the suicide bomb never mind. She's a cylon! Oh wait.... Gaeta is a cylon again! Oh, he's the leak. I love it cause its a microcosm of BSG discussion as the show was coming out.

Meh

I'd almost swear this show was written today

Double Drop Sweet Thank You

It bothered me that you kept trying to compare Tigh's action to the American Civil Rights struggle. Way off the mark people. The obvious parallel was to the US's then on-going occupation of Iraq. The references are to America's Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) and the attempt to use Iraqis as a "new" police force who were targeted by insurgents. Even the use of the term insurgents came from our real occupation of that country. The reference in the BSG briefing to former military working with Tigh was also a call out to the Iraq armed forces who were disbanded and sent home only to turn into insurgents. So, please stop comparing these episodes to Black America's non-violent struggle for equality.

I would enjoy this a lot more if Mick were a little less cynical and Suraj stopped trying to be the funniest person in the room all the time. Those 2 attitudes always block/change the reactions from the others 😔

#SundayRundown I think the the Cylons would have executed Baltar if he didn't sign it, they said if Baltar didn't that they would promote a new president and the next one would sign it. I think you guys missed that line. Didn't seem like they were bluffing. Baltar isn't that valuable to the Cylons, and they shot the 6 that was defending him. He shouldn't have signed it, but still not a bluff from the Cylons. Also its kind of nice that Anders is happy to see Sharon when she shows up. Sharon, Helo, Starbuck, and Anders spent time together on Caprica early in season 2, so Anders might be the only person who was actually cool with Sharon being a Cylon.

Could you please stop trying to draw forced parallels between the show and current times? The people being taken in the show and the baby being left behind bear no resemblance to today. America is not New Caprica, and whatever political party you dislike is not the Nazis. This is not Nazi Germany. So please stop virtue signaling—it’s exhausting when someone acts like they’re uniquely enlightened, as if they alone can “see the truth” that the rest of us somehow miss. No one cares. The reality is you’re watching this show in the United States, from the comfort of your warm, safe home, surrounded by a diverse group of people that no one has an issue with. The show is produced by an American company, and the platform you’re watching it on—along with the people creating it—are supported entirely by American subscribers and revenue.

🙄yes Republicans are Nazis and people around the world watch the Normies not just Americans what arrogance to think Americans are the center of the world/universe you have proven with your statements how Republicans are

ShantalHaitianPrincess
>>180863332

this is true but it still can be used as a parallel to the Civil Rights movement sure it was mostly peaceful on the Black American/POC side but it wasnt on the White side

They lie about everything. From the truce to Kara's "baby" to literally everything. It's meaningless to kill Caprica 6 as she will just resurrect anyway
