You should watch Rush its based on real story and focuses mostly on one F1 season and rivaly between James Hunt and Niki Lauda, the real story is much better than this generic Hollywood story. Action is better in this one but Rush for being 2013 movie did well in showing racing.

they shot some of the movie in the real race weekends like the Sonny and Ruben's celebration plus they shot a second ending where JP won so the fans won't know the real one.

"If racing was like that I would watch it." Guys, F1 racing IS like that. You get 90% of the camera angles and the fighting for positions that were shown. "I didn't know you could do that." You can’t. Sonny would have gotten a penalty for every collision and incident he caused. As often as he sabotaged the race he would have been disqualified. The waiting for the car in the pitlane and then driving out right in front of him would have also gotten him a penalty for unsafe release. Everyone can hear the radio. So, everyone should know that Sonny told him to wait. They don't make money per race. They have contracts with their teams that settle their annual salary plus bonuses for points and wins. There's no way that a driver who didn't do any testing on the track before the race and just got out of the hospital would win a race starting from the last position. The average race takes 1,5-2 hours. The number of laps depends on the length of the track. The longer the track the fewer laps they have to race. The G-forces only affect them in the corners.

If you guys liked this racing you HAVE to see Redline, it's a masterpiece of an anime racing movie and one of my favorite movies period.

So I do actually watch F1. For basketball I root for the Boston Celtics. For football I root for the Philadelphia Eagles and for F1 I root for McLaren. F1 is quite different than NASCAR. The tracks are even crazier. And there are 24-hour endurance races overseas. The 24 hours at Le Mans it's probably one of if not the most famous endurance race on the planet. And is featured quite prominently in the Ford versus Ferrari movie. In fact it's the central pivot point. Once you have a driver or a team to root for it's quite good. And I got into it because I've been playing racing games since the PlayStation 1 on up through Forza. It's fun to watch on the television. I haven't seen one up close although that might change in October or November. The F1 racing Austin is in October and the one for Vegas is in November. I really want to go to the one in Vegas. But it is a crazy sport. There are only 22 people on the planet at any given time even capable of doing F1. And doing it well, even smaller.

Good idea. There are soooo many episodes. I don't watch anymore because I actually watch the races, but it's an excellent way to become obsessed with racing. I just finished building my own FIA-compliant drift car yesterday. It all started with Drive to Survive.
